Customer Experience Technologies (CXT), led by Rick Rioboli, EVP and Chief Information Officer, is responsible for the technology, systems and tools that support the customer lifecycle (sales, activation, billing, support, etc.), as well as employee-facing teams such as human resources, finance, and workplace information technology. These tools and systems are foundational to our ability to meet and exceed customer expectations and support an excellent employee experience.
Job Description

About the Team:

The Enterprise Software Development and Platform Engineering organization is focused on developing and delivering technologies that enable the Comcast Workforce. This team works to improve and enhance the technology in your work life as friendly and easy to use as the technology in your personal life.

Who does the Architect work with?

The architect will be considered the technical owner of the platform and work very closely with the business owners, product managers, functional teams, technical teams, QA teams as well as the hosting vendor, Unity. Our team is responsible for the availability, performance, release management and security of the platform so would be required to work with engineers and architects within and outside our organization.

What are some exciting things you will be doing?

In this role, the architect would support the operations and development activities of our MySource platform. This cloud-based system is a sales communications platform coupled with a content management system which is used to publish and target relevant content for our users. This platform is designed to support a one-stop-shop experience providing content that is personalized, current, relevant, and important. In this role, the candidate would be encouraged to innovate and always be seeking ways to improve the user experience.

This role would also be responsible for supporting our various integrations with underlying systems such as Workday, NDW, Teradata, Globalscape, Microsoft Azure, SharePoint, Yammer, ServiceNow, Cloud Foundry, and Xfinity Xchange.

Where can you make an impact?

This software/system and its related components have a direct impact on Comcast Cable through its sales and care agents. This platform is used to help influence the behaviors, inform, and educate our field agents across our residential and commercial sales channels. The platform is configured in a way that improves the user's experience by targeting their assigned sales channel home page, as well as displaying content that is only relevant to them. This platform has an indirect impact to our Comcast revenue by helping improve our sales and care agent's performance resulting in higher revenue through product and service sales.

What You'll Do:

This position is responsible for providing operations and development support for our sales communications content management platform. This role would be considered the technical owner of this platform and work very closely with the business owners, shared technology groups, as well as the hosting vendor. We are responsible for the availability, performance, organizational change and security of the platform.

  • The architect will conduct weekly business review meetings with our business owners, providing technical updates on the platform, and planning development activities across the team.
  • This person would also help perform evaluations and testing against the latest product releases and features and present a summarized view to our business owners and divisional content administrators in preparation for our quarterly platform product upgrades.
  • This role would also help develop new features and functionalities through custom platform widgets and integration to other systems. Additionally, would help capture and document business requirements and perform detailed testing to ensure minimal to no defects in our code.



What type technologies will be learned/used in this role?

The candidate should have development skills in the areas of Angular JS, React, HTML, Cascading style sheets, Python, GraphQL, Java, and Informatica. These are required skill to support the various development and integration requests from the platform's business owners.

What You'll Need:

  • 3-5 years experience as an Information Technology professional with progressive experience as a technology solution designer, architect, or developer
  • Strong working development skills in React, Node.js, Graph QL, Angular.js, Python, and Java
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, delivering, and managing front end UI's
  • Demonstrable experience integrating cloud-based systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large scale enterprise level projects
  • Ability to analyze, absorb, advocate, and apply rapidly changing technologies and apply them as part of integrated solutions to business requirements.
  • Ability to construct high level and detailed technology roadmaps. Model, define, document "as-is" and "to-be" solutions.
  • Solid understanding of application availability, MTTR, MTBF, incidents, problems, outages, and related KPI.
  • Excellent technical development skills; collaborative, resourceful, reliable, and technically savvy.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in the overall technology architecture, the team's knowledge of architecture and concern for customer requirements, and the change process to improve the architecture.
  • Ability to work with functional business owners and technologists regarding technology issues
  • Outstanding consulting skills; Demonstrated ability to lead or facilitate complex, critically important projects
  • Establishes an environment for creativity, collaboration, and continual improvement
