About the job

This position is needed to build the next generation of Programmable Contact Center. 

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our globally distributed Flex R&D organisation on Flex Billing team located in Tallinn. This person will own a significant part of the Flex Project creation experience development, bringing solutions to customers requiring real time connectivity to Twilio’s vast communication offerings. They will work closely with a group of talented engineers towards implementing and delivering the next generation of Twilio Flex.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

• own the design and development of new API’s and significant new features end-to-end.

• drive great developer experiences for developers worldwide. 

• collaborate with other Flex teams based in Tallinn, Prague, London and other Twilio teams that are globally distributed.

• work directly with engineering teams as well as members of the product organization, architects and external partners to distill product requirements and customer use cases into architecture, technical design, and code.

• Adopt engineering best practices to deliver, secure, maintainable and scalable software.

• Cultivate an atmosphere of quality by championing testing standard methodologies and engineering efficiency.

Required:

Twilio is looking for an engineer who lives the Twilio Magic values and has:

• Software Engineering experience, developing and maintaining high traffic, data-driven, world-class backend services.

• Well versed understanding on using REST APIs. 

• Experience with build patterns from architecture to automated build and test pipelines and test-driven development, preferably in Java, and microservice architecture stacks.

• Experience delivering applications in a distributed team environment.

• Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills. 

• Desire to make an impact and thrive in small, collaborative, energetic teams. Ability to work with your team towards common goals.
  

Desired:

• Any experience with Docker, Terraform or Kafka is a plus.

• Experience with Typescript and desire to extend the expertise to the client-side engineering is a plus.

Location 

This role will be remote-first and based in Poland, Estonia or Czechia.
