We are looking for an experienced Engineer who will help pave the way for how consumers of data understand what quality data means for their business.  We need someone who is excited about working on cutting edge technologies with a team leading the charge in processing meaningful data at scale and with a purpose.  You will be part of a cohesive engineering team that focuses on results and continuous improvement.  Collibra is building some new-age tech, and this role will be a key component of that exciting growth.

• Actively participating in team meetings and sharing ideas
• Knowing your own code by preparing for code reviews and being able to justify design patterns used
• Understanding user personas impacted by code with well defined user stories and concrete inputs and outputs
• Writing clear, measurable test cases to validate user stories and assert output on positive and negative results

• 5+ years experience with building large, scalable web applications
• Experience in both the backend (Java and Spring) and the web frontend (Javascript, Typescript, React)
• Experience working with relational databases (preferably PostgresQL). 
• Experience with data science programming concepts and languages (preferably Scala)
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

• Familiar with: Kubernetes, Spark and graph databases
• Passionate about quality, good design and clean code
• Willing to share knowledge and continue learning
• Able to face challenges and problem solve with an agile mindset
• Broadly interested in technology and have the capability to adapt to new technologies

• Within your first month, you will get familiar with the environment we use, the way we implement software as an organization, participate in virtual stand-up’s, simple business use cases and submit your first code to production
• Within your third month, you will implement new user stories with quality and care, and understand what value they will bring to our customers. You will recognize areas for improvement and begin to propose ideas to the team during stand-ups
• Within your sixth month, you will be a key part of the Data Quality team, regularly delivering quality code, participating in testing, and providing constructive input on the design and approaches taken to improve our software
