Job Description

We are seeking a student to join us from January 2022 – June/July/August 2022 for a full-time (40 hours per week) opportunity to gain practical experience in application software development.

Position Overview:

If you are a Software Engineer Co-op who is passionate about building large scale distributed data processing platforms, then we would like to have you join our Cloud Services team.

You will work with a team of mobile application developers building applications on both Android & iOS, along with full-stack engineers responsible for evaluating tools & technologies along with prototyping & building our application platforms using an Agile Scrum development philosophy.

You will be part of an engineering organization that will entrust you to design, develop, and maintain various portions of our applications with lots of autonomy while receiving guidance and feedback to help you grow. You will be expected to collaboratively experiment, prototype, take risks, and document your work while helping to build new applications, web services, and tools used by our existing Avigilon Blue cloud offering.

Responsibilities include:

• Implement features and services for our cloud products
• Create cutting edge applications focused on configuration, data processing, and presentation of complex data sets through visualizations
• Participate in code reviews to ensure implementation of our design guidelines & coding standards
• Evaluate and utilize the latest concepts, tools and technologies
• Collaborate with the automation and testing team to identify test cases for new features and areas for regression tests

Qualifications:

• Progress towards a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
• Strong object-oriented design and coding skills
• Experience with scripting languages, build systems, and version control systems
• Experience interacting with large datasets, relational databases, NoSQL databases
• Experience with web technologies
• Exposure to Agile software development practices

Basic Requirements

• Progress towards a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
