The Paymode-X Business Solutions (PBS) Group at Bottomline Technologies is seeking a software engineer to support the Paymode-X product platform. The PBS Group develops the best in class B2B settlement network (Paymode-X) that is the biggest and fastest growing settlement network. The Paymode-X team has a vision of becoming the predominant way businesses pay and get paid.

The Software Engineer will be a web developer who will help bring an existing .NET payment application up to Bottomline development standards while enhancing the product to meet the needs of current customers.  The Engineer will work with Bottomline’s development teams to deliver a quality application to Bottomline’s clients. 

  This position can be based out of a remote location within the US, East Coast preferred

How you’ll contribute:

• Assist Production Support Team with complex & difficult issues, especially high severity & high-profile incidents
• Develop and maintain training documents
• Work with Monitoring Team to identify new monitoring opportunities
• Refresh training documentation with new features and updates
• Consult and assist with Root Cause Analysis for incidents
• Maintain local environment for debugging
• Develop new technical skills and expand industry knowledge to stay well-informed of changing tools and methodologies
• As an active member of the development community, utilize and promote best practices
• Participate in process improvement efforts
• Consult and facilitate with the onboarding of new clients
• Consult and facilitate with Disaster Recovery

What will make you successful:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or other related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent
• 3-5 years’ experience in hands-on, web-based software development and support
• C#.NET development experience required
• Developing web applications using frameworks such as ASP.NET Core
• Ability to prioritize effectively and handle shifting priorities professionally
• Web Services
• GIT or SVN
• Developing banking and financial applications is desired but not required
• Client facing experience
• Object Oriented Programming
• HTML & JavaScript
• Databases and SQL Query language
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
