About the Team
Uber's Marketplace Engineering team creates the technology behind our ridesharing marketplace by connecting riders with drivers at the push of a button. Our solutions expand user access, deliver reliability, and provide more transportation choices to users across our global markets.
We're establishing a new team on Autonomous Mobility & Delivery products to enable pilot experience with partners. Our mission is to make Uber the leading platform for deploying self-driving vehicles as efficiently, reliably, and safely as possible. This effort will unblock next-gen innovation and tremendous network efficiency on Uber's platform with cutting edge technologies.
About the Role
We focus on building the innovative Autonomous Mobility & Delivery experience with partners. This includes -

  • Reliable and seamless integration with Autonomous Vehicle from partners
  • Delightful and magical customer and merchant experiences
  • Optimized and improved marketplace overall efficiency with new format of transportation

What You'll Do

  • As a Software Engineer on the AM&D team you will design, code, test, and launch new features.
  • You will build and deliver these cutting edge features through complex experiments, collaborating with Data Science, Design, and Product teams, that help simplify the lives of our diverse customer base and improve marketplace metrics.


Basic Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in systems software engineering. Sound understanding of computer architecture and CS fundamentals.
  • Proficient in one of the following programming languages: Java, Go, Python, C/C++.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Detailed problem-solving approach and knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis.
  • Experience working on large-scale distributed systems
  • Grit, drive and a strong feeling of ownership coupled with collaboration.
