Job Description
We are looking for a Software Engineer, 2 with a demonstrated track record of innovative thinking, technical mastery, and peer guidance on our Vertical Brands. You will work in a collaborative Agile environment as well as realizing these ideas in code.
You will also be creating high-visibility, interactive features on some of our most highly-ranked pages. These features will form an important part in some of our most prominent sites that span across more than 20 brands and reach more than 100 million users each month.
About Your Contributions:
Develop responsive and elegant cross-platform functionality in our custom server-side component framework, built on Java but leveraging SCSS, Freemarker templates, and ES6 on the front-end, with VueJS increasingly used for more interactive components.
Partner closely with other developers on your scrum team with the support from many others across the organization.
Keep up with new technologies and approaches to solve problems and improve existing systems.
Work directly with designers, QA, and our back-end developers in a dedicated scrum team to fully realize the product vision.
Participate in a well-oiled 2 week agile system to continuously add new features & functionality to the business.
About You:
2+ years building interactive web applications as a front-end or full-stack developer
You should have a demonstrated track record of technical proficiency with HTML, vanilla Javascript, and CSS/SCSS, ideally with a portfolio and/or examples of work in Github
Willingness to learn new technologies and grow as a developer
Ideally, you'll also have a meticulous eye for design and rigorously check your own work for quality and precision, even before QA and stakeholder review
Publishing or digital media experience (including work with WordPress) preferred but not required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field or foreign equivalent

Pay Range
Salary: $72,500 - $124,100
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
