You will be responsible of successful planning and execution of IT Product Related Software, portfolio management, project management, and overall product delivery. Maintain overall responsibility for reviewing, planning, organizing, and directing IT Product Related Software and project initiatives. This position will drive consistent process and project management practices across IT Product Related Software, resulting in predictable, measurable services. You will work closely with senior leaders both internal and external to ensure an alignment of personnel and services with business priorities while creatively identifying solutions to enable IT product software development to operate more effectively.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and documentation of IT Software Related Products
  • Define Roles and Responsibilities within team. Clearly sets goals and priorities as well.
  • Coordinate development efforts between all teams which may include On Site, Off Site and Off Shore.
  • Directly and indirectly, support the development of Leadership within the IT Product Team 
  • Provide proper inspiration for growth and development of team members
  • Create, manages and supports software used for Valmont’s products
  • Lead and manages budgets, ensuring annual budget objectives are met
  • Develop and maintains relationships within the various company departments
  • Lead team directly and also by example within other areas of IT and the business
  • Provide timely and consistent communication of Product/Project Status and Scope
  • Assist in developing plans and roadmaps for Global IT systems used to support Valmont’s products
  • Facilitate the communication and maintenance of product updates
  • Allocate appropriate resources to ensure that projects, enhancements and support is/are completed within committed time, scope, and budget
  • Ensure staffing coverage in all areas of expertise necessary to support and grow the business 
  • Create and maintain staffing plan to support the current and future work demands and project deliverables
  • Initiates and implements new technologies, methodologies, process and procedures that will support long and short term company goals
  • In addition to project and new functionality deployment, responsibilities include career development, performance management, and pay determination, and communication.
  • Establish and Nurture positive relationships with and customer organizations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt to and lead, change, and coach others in the acceptance and support of change
  • Ability to coach the team to initiate and present the right questions to gain insight into the business issues and needed resolutions
  • Take ownership and delivery responsibility for special projects and company initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
  • Coordinate with the various operating units to encourage the leveraging of technology across the corporation to achieve maximum synergy.


  • A minimum of ten (10) years in a high-level IT role
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in a system related projects including ERP or other business systems
  • Leadership or subject matter expert role in a business system implementation
  • Advanced level analytical and problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to identify problems and systematically gather data, identify root causes and solutions
  • Familiarity with program management, large (enterprise) and small to mid-size project management, manufacturing, lean manufacturing, and IT applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Leadership skills with the ability to influence, build relationships and manage high priority items and adjust to shifting priorities while meeting deadlines
  • The ability to see, account for, and coach others in the “big picture” as well as the details and to be able to tie initiatives to Corporate Goals
  • Excellent understanding of computer technology as it applied to business processes
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
