What does a great Software Development Engineer do?

Consults with project teams and functional units on the design of important projects or services. Helps support existing business systems applications and demonstrates proficiency and leadership within agile methodologies. Balances and prioritizes project work efficiently. Design applications, analyze, lead and coordinate business enterprise solutions.

Position Purpose:

Our technology platforms empower credit unions to increase growth and generate loyalty by providing both staff and members with real-time data available across multiple channels. Essential Job Responsibilities:

This role will be expected to partner with Fiserv Product, Project Management, Quality Assurance, Documentation, Infrastructure, and Security teams to help develop go forward strategy. This includes presenting recommendations to senior management, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of market-facing solutions.

Projects will encompass the development of new product feature/functions, large scale cross-platform integration efforts, refreshing existing legacy platforms, bleeding edge proof-of-concept financial services modules, and professional services engagements for some of the largest financial organizations in the world.

We are looking for someone who acts as a role model and mentor on software development methodologies, standards, strategies, and quality and change leadership. The right person will influence others by demonstrating professionalism, passion/enthusiasm, providing communication/motivation and creating a collaborative environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • 6-10 years of experience in software systems development and process development
  • Should have recent hands-on development experience with .Net technologies using C#, VB.Net, WPF
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering a complex business technology solution into production for use by business clients.
  • Knowledge and experience with building and supporting applications on various platforms.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in system architecture, technical design, and system and software development technology.
  • Strong understanding and experience with development and support of mission critical applications optimized to run in enterprise data centers and deliver highly scalable, reliable performance; ability to roll up sleeves and oversee trouble shooting, performance tuning as required.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in the development project lifecycle. Expert in SDLC methodologies.
  • Ability to solve technical/engineering problems and execute on the solution through the development, testing and architecture teams, et al.
  • Experience with managing a matrixed organization, including offshore resources.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in the financial services industry preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge of Microservices development in MS Azure cloud environment
  • Strong technical experience in UI technologies and design
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in project management processes.
