We are seeking versatile software developers for IBM's enterprise data protection offering, IBM Spectrum Protect. Our product protects customer data at massive scale, often in environments that are on premise and in the cloud. Software developers on this project build solutions using next-generation techniques and technologies to continue evolving our solutions in a rapidly growing market space. We're looking for engineers who bring enthusiasm and fresh ideas to a large Tucson-based team as they work together through design, launch and support of this world-class, enterprise product.

Job Duties:
As a software developer for IBM Spectrum Protect, you will use Agile development and Design Thinking practices. You will work with product architects, managers, and customers to clarify new feature requirements and implementation directions. You will create designs and write code, automation and test cases to ensure delivery of excellent user experiences and optimal product performance, reliability and serviceability. You will develop code using C, Java, and Go programming languages to be supported on multiple operating systems like Windows, Linux, and AIX. You will collaborate across scrum teams and conduct playbacks with stakeholders to refine features and user experiences. You will interact with customers, business partners, and account teams to provide development support for customer issues with deployed products and quickly deliver satisfactory resolutions.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 2+ years' experience in C or Java programming
- 2+ years' experience developing for Linux, Unix and Windows operating systems
- Experience and/or knowledge of Operating System concepts (serialization, concurrency, multi-threading)
- Experience and/or knowledge in Data Structures and Algorithms
- Demonstrated collaboration and communication skills in a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Experience and/or knowledge in Relational Database Architecture and SQL
- Experience in scripting Perl, Python, Golang, or similar language
- Experience in JSON, REST API
- Experience in Jenkins, Anisible
- Experience in Agile development environments
- Experience in Git/GitHub
- Experience and/or knowledge in systems and storage concepts (file servers, disk subsystems)
- Experience and/or knowledge in cloud services (object storage, containers)
