Overview

We're looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our Payments and Processing team. You'll primarily work on critical initiatives related to transaction processing, one of the primary revenue generators for Recharge and build fault tolerant tooling that processes billions of dollars in transactions per year. In this role you'll be working on problems that address scalability and performance and address both feature opportunities as well as core business problems.

What You’ll Do

• Write Python3 code focused on scalability, testability, supportability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product to build new features or update existing ones at scale.
• Champion good habits (development techniques, security, tech debt balance, TDD, and agile habits) within your team.
• Debug production issues across multiple levels of the stack.
• Find and address performance issues throughout the application.
• Perform thorough code reviews and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Building new services that scale; deploy code daily.

What You’ll Bring

• Typically, 4+ years of relevant development experience in fast paced environments
• Expert knowledge of one of the following languages: Python (preferred), Nodejs, Ruby
• Experience with Cloud Platforms such as GCP or AWS
• Experience with Docker, auto-scaling, pub-sub architectures, serverless
• Self driven, with a passion for taking ownership of your work and delivering outcomes
• Ability to work remote-first in a rapidly scaling organization
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience desired
