About the Role:
North America Product team owns multi-platform customer-facing products for Remitly's North America business. We develop product features to engage and retain customers and stay connected to how customers use them through A/B tests. Our engineering team learns and grows in a collaborative engineering culture at Remitly, while delivering great customer experience with Product Managers, Designers and Data Analysts.
As an engineer on the team, you will contribute to services and app architectures that help evolve our product. You will enjoy learning and working with different technologies crossing multiple layers of the software stack and application platforms. You will develop product features from the design through to production release. You will report to the Engineering Manager of NA Product teams.
You Will:
- Participate in each step from idea-to-launch of new features with a data-driven and customer-centric viewpoint.
- Build and invest in Remitly's customer-facing product for North America (NA) by delivering product features and driving engineering excellence.
- Work with product managers and designers to engage and retain our customers with new experiences on a multi-platform React Native + TypeScript product.
- Work with engineers in the team, product managers, designers, and analysts to build great product experiences.
- Advocate for our customers and quality of our product.
You Have:
- A BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a software developer.
- Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages like TypeScript, Kotlin, Swift, JavaScript, Java, or Objective-C.
- Experience developing high-quality production-ready software or services including- technical design, development, testing, build and deploy, and support.
- An understanding of software development practices, system design, software design patterns, and algorithms.
- Experience with distributed systems or micro-services architecture in production is a plus.
- Worked in a team with other engineers, UX designers and product managers.
