Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop cloud-based software systems (APIs and Websites) as part of a multi-disciplinary team that works with an Agile methodology and integrates design, development, testing, and quality control.
  • Execute on technical requirements and document new ones when needed
  • Participate in on-call rotation for applications
  • Apply best practices for testing and deployment in an agile environment
  • Understanding the technical architecture of internally developed applications
  • Understand business processes and requirements from the business


Required Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of work experience with developing full stack applications, preferably in a cloud environment, like AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience in, and comfortable with, being part of a team that builds components as part of a distributed environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep up with the ever-changing software environments.
  • Experience in working within an Agile-based team environment.
  • Experience in building frontend and backend applications using modern frameworks and technologies.
  • Programming skills - C#, Kotlin, Java, NodeJS or Scala.
  • Exposure or experience with Angular or another modern JavaScript framework.
  • Experience with a NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB) or RDBMS (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle) Database technology.
  • Can interact with external consumers and partners, providing technical guidance and/or gathering feedback.
  • Familiarity using modern software test methodologies.
  • Knowledge or experience in authentication/authorization concepts such as OAuth, OpenId and SSO.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment, and possess time management skills to meet schedules.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bonus: Experience using cloud-based, containerized application technologies such as Docker.
  • Bonus: Specific and relevant Google Cloud Platform experience.


Functional Description

Plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools. Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, or Internet-related computer programs. Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications. Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.

Functional/Business Knowledge

  • Applies basic technical understanding with the knowledge to develop process and design experiments. Possesses theoretical knowledge, but is learning the industry and requirements of applied science. Understands organizational and functional processes and policies.


Scope

  • Demonstrates potential for technical proficiency. Works on problems of basic scope in which analysis of situation or data requires a review of data factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.


Judgement

  • Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
  • Normally receives instructions on all work and work output it supervised.


Experience and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 0-2 years related experience.


Workplace Type

  • The Workplace Type for this role is Flex. Based on the nature of your position you will be working onsite approximately 2-3 days per week from collaborative space and hoteling desks at our Dexcom sites. You will need to be located within commuting distance (typically 75 miles/120km) of your assigned Dexcom site.
