We are seeking a Nashville based Software Developer / Analyst to joinour CTC Project Team in Operations Technology.

The Operations Technology group is a key part of the IT organization at AB and provides back and middle office systems to support most parts of operations and the front office. The group is responsible for applications used for client reporting, data warehousing, portfolio accounting, internal reporting, data delivery, pricing, performance calculation, and attribution. Operations Technology is responsible for 20 applications. Some of these are vendor products but most are designed, developed, and tested in-house. These applications are in use 24 hours a day with a user community spread across the globe including offices in Nashville, Melbourne, Sydney, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, Mumbai, Pune, London, New York & San Antonio.

Describe the role:

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in UK, Vietnam, India, and the US.

  • Uses a combination of SQL, LINUX, Excel, and other general IT skills to support the CTC application and to resolve production support issues, develop enhancements and design solutions.
  • Understands the business problems / needs from operations managers and business users.
  • Analyses and documents detailed business requirements including data and non-functional requirements.
  • Constructs test cases and participates in testing developed code prior to User Acceptance Testing.
  • Communicates business requirements to development staff and coordinates the project implementation effort.
  • Ensures traceability between business and functional requirements.
  • Develops and maintains a detailed understanding of business processes, customer needs and priorities. Makes suggestions on business process improvements to promote business growth and efficiency.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key business, IT stakeholders, team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects, and manages expectations. Promotes a constructive, positive team environment and maintains a spirit of openness, information sharing, inquisitiveness, problem-solving, and support for our common goals.



Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports:

The role will support CTC (Clareti Transaction Control) and related applications for the Operations business

The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Handle L2 production support issues and tasks
  • Analyse business processes and flows and partner to generate business/technical requirements, design and build new implementations in CTC.
  • Build knowledge of business requirements, data models, user interfaces and navigation specifications that bridge business needs with systems design/deliverables.
  • Collaborate with onshore/offshore developers, business clients and the project team



What makes this role unique or interesting?

CTC is a vendor application that is reasonably new to AB, and as such is at the beginning of its lifespan. Currently there are many new controls and processes that are planned to be migrated to CTC across a range of business groups. This role will work directly with different business groups and onshore/offshore IT teams to build solutions to meet the unique reconciliation requirements of each business group and control.

  • This position will be responsible for technical and business analyst tasks, providing the candidate a unique opportunity to strenghten both their software development and analytical skills. This person will be expected to interact across IT and business groups and build the skills necessary to support AB business at various levels. They will gain a first-hand understanding of how their work impacts AB business.



Job Qualifications (The ideal candidate should have the following):

  • 3-5 years Software development and BA experience



Qualifications, Experience, Education:

  • Bachelors Degree educated (or equivalent) in IT or Finance.



Technical Skills:

  • Prior experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) required
  • Knowledge & practical use of UNIX Command Line a plus
  • Strong data analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Knowledge of relational databases and concepts important
  • Experience with JIRA, SharePoint and ServiceNow a plus
  • Good execution skills and ability to drive results
  • MS Office
    • Excel - Used frequently. Basic knowledge and experience required. Strong knowledge and working experience advantageous.
    • Word - Basic knowledge is sufficient



Business Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills requried
  • Basic understanding of Finance Industry beneficial
