At GDIT, people are our differentiator. In this role, a typical day will include:
- Position is in a team environment with individual projects assigned for candidate to complete.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
- Ability to work with customer directly on requirements and implement into a final product
- Ability to work within customer required parameters to include accessibility in all sites, utilizing agile scrum methodology.
- Work in a paired programming environment to build web based applications using Ruby on Rails
- Develop automated tests using RSpec and Karma
- Exposure to/experience with JavaScript frameworks and object oriented programming.
- Exposure to/experience with Ruby on Rails
- Exposure to/experience with AWS
- Exposure to/experience with CI/CD; deployment automation
- Familiarity with JIRA, GIT repository.
- Work in an Agile team. Perform sprint planning, sprint review. Participate in daily standups and retros.
- Perform web accessibility testing and remediation
- Perform systems administrative tasks to support automated deployments, system monitoring, and infrastructure management.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
- Willingness to learn to enhance team performance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Performs all phases of the software development lifecycle
Analyzes user/business needs and functionality to plan and design software systems to meet those needs
Creates a variety of models and diagrams that show programmers the software code needed for an application
Performs software updates, refinement, testing, and debugging to meet business needs
Prepares reports on software project specifications, activities, or status
Documents the software or system for future maintenance and updates
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BA/BS or equivalent, 2+ years of experience
