POSITION SUMMARY:

Blue Acorn iCi’s Digital Solution Team is currently seeking an intermediate Software Developer to join our Digital Solutions team. In this position, the candidate will gain professional experience in a fast-paced, agile environment, while interacting with both customers and peers. The developer will be provided technical, hands-on training with enterprise level development tools. In addition, the Software Developer will be introduced to large, high profile clients and will learn to configure and customize enterprise solutions to meet the client’s complex needs. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, adapt quickly to changing environments, be eager to learn new skills, and be able to work alongside peers and mentors to achieve company objectives.



JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creatively solve complex problems
  • Writing code with a variety of programming languages, and other technologies
  • Setting up and configuring development environments
  • Developing applications to meet business requirements 
  • Meeting with and utilizing teammates’ expertise to gain experience and grow professionally
  • Documenting methods and lessons learned
  • Participating in most stages of the SDLC; including planning, daily stand-ups, code reviews, and code deployments
  • Writing maintainable and reusable code
  • Research, analyze and provide guidance for new software solutions and integrations
  • Develop effective programming solutions to meet project requirements
  • Review and suggest enhancements to existing systems to improve performance and productivity



QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent skill set
  • 3-5 years of experience with a variety of programming languages
  • Experience or familiarity with some back end web technologies (PHP, Java, NodeJS, or at least one other)
  • Experience importing/exporting files
  • Debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Exposure to API integrations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly 
  • Ability to work well in team settings 
  • Likes mentoring, coaching, and training others
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with team members and clients
  • Experience programming with modern languages or technologies such as Java, C++, C#, NodeJS, PHP
  • Experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems
  • Understanding of the fundamentals in data structure, algorithm design, complexity analysis, and problem solving
  • Experienced and proven application developer, looking to expand into web development and technology



PREFERRED SKILLS & TECHNOLOGIES (at least 3 or more of the following):

  • Professional experience in development on enterprise scale (fortune 500 size companies)
  • Experience implementing Java applications or web content management systems
  • Experience implementing and working with LAMP stack
  • Experience working with ecommerce platforms and handling transactions
  • Experience with PCI compliance 
  • In-depth knowledge of object-oriented methodologies preferred
  • Experience in ReactJS and NodeJS development is a plus
  • Preferred Technical Skills(at least 4): PHP, Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Maven, Git, SASS, LESS, SQL, MySQL
