Job Summary

As part of a Software Development team supporting Business Intelligence (BI) for the FAA's Logistics/Supply Chain, this position will provide software development and architectural support to assist the FAA client with building out its analytics platform. This position is responsible for the DevOps and CI/CD. Additional responsibilities include engineering work, operations, data distribution, and AWS. The successful candidate will have experience working with a product team, business stakeholders, and other clients and users to design and present BI solutions.

The position requires 2-5+ years of relevant experience.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related, and/or a logical assignment for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Design, create, and develop data pipelines to support the organizational business processes.
  • Design, implement, and maintain the data platform data model at the conceptual, logical, and physical levels.
  • Develop and deploy data solutions that extract, transform, catalog, persist, and distribute to various end users.
  • Engineer solutions for various scenarios such as batch and continuous-large data streams.
  • Write quality code in an Agile team environment and contribute to code reviews, testing, and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop and/or modify software coding, as well as work with various database software.
  • Provide recommendations on BI tools that can be utilized to automate and facilitate the organization's communication processes and procedures.
  • Develop technical documentation as required based on efforts.



Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Systems, Management Information Systems, IT Management, or other IT degrees are required. STEM and/or graduate degrees are acceptable substitute degrees for experience.

Skills Requirements

The following skills are desired.

  • Intermediate proficiency in several software technologies areas:
    • Relational Database technologies (Postgres, Oracle)
    • Python and PL/pgSQL
  • Familiarity data orchestration using tools such as AWS services such as S3, Lambda, and Glue.
  • Understanding of Software Configuration Management techniques and Git.
  • Able to work in a team of developers to build production quality applications.



Security Requirements

Must be a US citizen or a legal resident for three of the past five years

Must meet eligibility requirements for a US Public Trust security clearance

Travel

Occasional travel required as needed by client/s and/or company
