Software Developer Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated Software Developer Manager. The experienced DevOps Software Developer Manager supports task/process automation and the development of software enhancements for an existing classified system. They also gather requirements and coordinate with other developers to figure out the best possible implementation. Works Additionally, the Manager will be responsible for tasking and managing priorities and deliverables for employees, reporting status to leadership, and coordinating with government counterparts in implementing program-driven enhancements.

Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires all candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess an Active Top Secret with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance. Candidates must be able to receive DHS suitability prior to starting employment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team consisting of up to 9 employees
• Communicate policies, expectations, and feedback to staff
• Facilitate a high-performance team environment and employee engagement
• Provide performance feedback and corrective action to direct staff
• Lead activities of staff to diagnose and resolve client problems
• Guide staff on diagnosis of potential problems and resolutions.
• Field escalated customer issues and resolve or refer to specialized experts as needed
• Guide and coordinate projects requiring scheduling
• Monitor and report the status of tickets and tasks assigned ensuring items are coordinated, logged, tracked, and resolved appropriately.
• Provide input on process improvements and contribute to the technology road map for the strategic plan.
• Contribute to the development, communication and implementation of policies, procedures, best practices, recommendations, and guidelines for standards.
• Other duties as assigned and required.

Qualifications

Required Education & Years of Experience

• Bachelor's degree and Eight (8) years of experience OR
• 4 year of experience and a Master's Degree OR
• 16 years of total related experience can substitute for a degree.

Required Skills

• Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability
• Experience gathering requirements and defining projects
• Solid foundation in Object Oriented Programming (Java, C#/.NET, etc) and comprehensive unit testing experience
• Experience and/or familiarity with one of more: Version Control (Git/SVN), Dependency Management (Ivy/Ant/Maven), Unit Testing/Documentation (JUnit, JavaDoc, LaTex), Static Code Analysis
• Demonstrated experience and/or familiarity with one of more of the following database technologies: Relational (MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL), JBDC/ORM

Desired Skills

• Experience in one or more commercial/government cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Experience with agile software development methodologies
• Experience working in a government/contractor environment
• Experience/Proficiency in C#/.Net, JavaFX, Spring
• Experience and/or familiarity with Agile development methodology
• Experience and/or familiarity with CI/CD (Jenkins, Bamboo, Hudson), Issue Tracking/Project Management Tools (JIRA, Redmine), Containerization (Docker)
• Experience with task/process automation
• Experience with SharePoint development (Preferred but not required)
• IAT Level III desired
