Software Configuration Management (SCM) and Build Engineer Job in Rochester, NY:

MODIS is seeking a Software Configuration Management (SCM) and Build Engineer who wants to join a fun, growing software development team. The SCM Engineer manages builds and performs deployment-related activities on software development projects, following configuration management best practices.

Responsibilities of Software Configuration Management (SCM) and Build Engineer Job in Rochester, NY:

Design, implement, and maintain scripts and programs used to perform software builds and create deployment packages for very large and complex software development projects

Assist Software Developers with development issues related to configuration management tool use (check in/out, branching, merging, and tagging)

Work with SCM and application development teams to establish configuration management policies, procedures, and supporting infrastructure to ensure compliance and repeatability required to meet product schedules

Responsible for supporting software version control, builds and releases utilizing configuration management tools, such as ClearCase, Git and CruiseControl

Required Skill of the Software Configuration Management (SCM) and Build Engineer Job in Rochester, NY:

Solid understanding of version control principles

Thorough knowledge of Windows (batch scripts, registry, files hierarchy, services, MSI, etc.)

Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills, especially with builds and product installations

Exceptional organizational and time management skills and a Methodical approach with an attention to detail

Proficiency in creating and supporting installation packages used to deploy/install software with InstallShield

Experience using at least one of the following version control product/systems: ClearCase, Git, Microsoft Team Foundation Services (TFS), Azure DevOps

Experience using continuous integration build software with CruiseControl

Development experience using C++, C#, Java, or Perl

Experience with Agile development principles

Qualifications of the Software Configuration Management (SCM) and Build Engineer Job in Rochester, NY:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent related field

Minimum 2 years of relevant build, installer, and software configuration management experience
