Eaton's eMobility Division is currently seeking a Software Architect Specialist to join our team. This position is based at our Southfield, MI facility. If required , Visa Sponsorship will be provided for a qualified candidate curently residing within 50 miles from Southfiled, Mi.

Position Overview:

The Software Architect Specialist will guide the development and design of Inverters, OBC, DCDC Converter and PDU with a keen eye towards safety requirement, and analysis in accordance with ISOS 26262. A large portion of this includes developing best software architecture solutions and strategies in the software design to meet safety of required ASIL level. There will be a large emphasis on software design including software dynamic analysis, task scheduling and priority, multi-core resources and memory allocation and ASIL partitioning.

In this function you will:

  • Develop system software requirement for Inverter, OBC and DCDC. Analyze system requirements, system architecture/communication and safety requirement.
  • Design smart software architectural designs satisfy functional safety requirement, multicore architecture and critical time requirement
  • Align software safety requirement and design with customer expectation and perform software safety analysis for the software design
  • Model the dynamic behavior of the software system and assign resources (Task Scheduling/Priority, Multi-core resources, Memory allocation, Communicationetc). Model the interfaces between modules interaction.
  • Establish and maintain 100% traceability between software requirement, architectural design and testing following the system development milestones.
  • Provide technical leadership and work as interface to internal software developers, system group as well as external contractors

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited institution required
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience with C/C++ programming as well as the software development lifecycle
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience with AUTOSAR Multi-Core Operating System.
  • Local Candidates within a 50 mile radius of assigned work location.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience with ISO26262 and safety product development
  • Experience with AUTOSAR architecture and specification
  • Experience with a variety of CPU architectures and low level driver for microcontroller peripheral interfaces such as SPI, I2C, USB, ADC, I/Oetc
  • Knowledgeable in usage and development of UML based designs; experience in the modeling of the dynamic behavior of the software
  • Experience with Multi-core, Pre-emptive Real-Time Operating Systems
  • Experience with ISO26262 and safety product development
  • Familiar with System Desk, DOORs, Software architecture modeling tools.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience with SystemDesk design tool a plus
  • Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Experience in developing inverter, OBC and DCDC a plus
  • Working experience with IBM JAZZ a plus
  • Working knowledge of OEM or Tier1 development process
  • Working experience in global team environment a plus
