The Systems & Infrastructure team is responsible for the design, build, and deployment of a world class infrastructure that drives automaton, implementation of new business models, and growth at scale for HP's services business. With a focus on Innovation, the group drives market differentiation with architectural vision to consolidate, accelerate and simplify new technology adoption and deliver high value solutions that solve the pain points of HP's customers.

The Systems & Infrastructure charter covers both Print as well as Personal Systems Services tying these two service groups at their infrastructure offers and leverage to deliver consistent and effective customer outcomes.

The Systems Enablement team within System & Infrastructure is the engineering group responsible for developing, testing and supporting all the cloud infrastructure assets and solutions.

Job Description:

The Cloud Architect within the System Enablement team applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to technology, architecture and development practice improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. Provide technical mentoring and guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops organization-wide architectures and methodologies for software systems design and development across multiple platforms and organizations
  • Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value; creates plans for integration and update into architecture.
  • Lead the overall end to end strategy and architecture for multiple solutions for software releases
  • Drive technology roadmap for software solution with focus on business impact.
  • Collaborate continuously with the program and product development teams to implement new features/requirements for the CI/CT/CD pipeline
  • Perform analysis of the current practices and design and implement best practices and emerging concepts in development and CI/CT/CD landscape.
  • Takes responsibility for consistent implementation of engineering processes, methodologies, standards and tools.
  • The role will work with Lab directors and section managers to set the agenda for value creation through technology introduction and upgrade. Evaluate emerging technologies, exercise independent judgment, develop innovation proposals and makes recommendations.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Typically, 8-14 years' experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Extensive experience with multiple software systems design tools and languages.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in overall architecture of software systems for products and solutions.
  • Designing and integrating software systems running on multiple platform types into overall architecture.
  • Knowledge of full software development lifecycle processes, microservices architecture, micro-frontend architectures, API first architecture approaches
  • Evaluating forms and processes for software systems testing and methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
  • Experience in designing and developing cloud systems/application on AWS and experience in developing secure cloud applications
  • Experience in Window based development
  • Good knowledge of
    • Programming languages - Java, Node, Python, C#, and JavaScript.
    • Frontend technologies: React, Angular, AngularJS, etc.
    • Database: MongoDB, DynamoDB, MySQL, NoSQL, SQL Server
    • Performance monitoring solutions - AWS Cloudwatch,
    • Cloud Infrastructure components: AWS, Apache, NGINX, Chef, Puppet, Docker, GitHub, Jira; etc.
    • Networking concepts - TCP/IP, HTTP, CDN, VPN, Route 53 (DNS), CloudFront (CDN) and Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) etc.
    • Non-functional aspects of load-balancing, auto-scaling, and automated testing
    • TDD and BDD approaches
  • Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.
