We’re looking for a passionate Site Reliability Engineer to be the next member of our awesome engineering team. JumpCloud is focused on delivering cloud-based directory services via a SaaS model and as a result are solving some very difficult problems around identity, authentication, security, and cloud scaling. You need to be extremely customer focused and able to translate that customer experience into influence with engineering service owners. You understand and believe in a strong service ownership model as well as how SRE endeavors to enable it. You describe your decision making as data driven.
We're solving complex problems in the cloud using the latest and greatest technologies like MongoDB, GoLang, Node, Vagrant, Docker, Saltstack, ELK Stack, Redis, etc. But wait, you haven’t used those technologies? No worries: we’re open-minded and we believe that good engineering is not technology specific.
The Problems You'll be Solving
- Work with Software Engineering counterparts to enable them to be strong service owners for the services they build and deploy.
- Help the teams identify and measure the important KPIs in their service and work to define SLOs and SLAs around the services. Improve production landscape for existing services, providing SRE expertise and implementing standard metrics and monitoring, dashboard improvements and error budgets to use for services on an ongoing basis.
- Evangelize and drive engineering teams to use established best practices in feature design, success criteria, readiness review, incident reviews, and follow ups.
What We're Looking For:
- 2+ years of industry/production programming experience in Python, Go, Ruby or C++ or similar technologies.
- Willingness to work in many different areas and repositories.
- Experience developing large-scale web applications, SaaS applications in the cloud (AWS a plus) or large, distributed systems. Git experience.
- Passion for SLO/As and how they enable strong service ownership and highly reliable large distributed systems.
- Comfortable with Linux servers, specifically RHEL/CentOS.
- Experience with containerization software such as Nomad, Kubernetes, Docker or LXC
- Experience in dealing with data sets, building robust data pipelines, architectures, and tuning applications.
- Strong team player that wants to win together.
- This role is both Agile and interrupt driven, and we’re a team that’s constantly working together.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Passion for product and customer, not just for code.
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual compensation range for this role is $90,000 - $160,000 including base salary and any related bonuses or commissions. JumpCloud provides comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, short and long term disability, life insurance and a 401k savings plan. We have an unlimited vacation policy.

JumpCloud is committed to being Remote First, meaning that are you able to work remotely within the country noted in the Job Description.
For US Roles: All roles posted in United States locations do require that you be located within one of the 50 U.S. States. Our Headquarters is in the Denver/Boulder, CO area but as a remote company, you are able to work remotely anywhere in the U.S. If you would like to spend time in the office in Denver/Boulder area, you are welcome do that as well.
