Pearl Health is restoring the independence and joy of practicing medicine for doctors in the United States. Our healthcare system has burdened our doctors with too much process, while removing them from what they do best: caring for those we love most. We are a team of physicians (Groups), technologists (Athena, Hudson River Trading) and health plan leaders (Oscar, Clover, Centivo) who believe that primary care providers (PCPs) are the key to the United States’  future health. Our investors include Andreessen Horowitz, Viking Global Investors, AlleyCorp, and SV Angel.

Pearl Health helps PCPs who are overwhelmed by the demands of an aging population and the unpredictable business model inherent to Traditional Medicare. Over time, this solution will empower PCPs to provide better care to their entire patient population. We believe there is a need to bring humanism back to healthcare by giving physicians the ability to better allocate their time with patients, increasing their autonomy, creating incentives that are aligned with achieving better outcomes through clinical decision-making powered by actionable intelligence, and making risk more available and more readily optimized through an intelligent marketplace. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) is launching a new value-based care program to disrupt Traditional Medicare, and we believe that this represents an opportunity to achieve the meaningful change we envision.

What we hope you can do...

We are seeking to hire our first Site Reliability Engineer! You’ll work alongside our Software Engineering and Data Science teams as part of a tightly-knit R&D organization. Your decisions will shape the day to day operations of our platform, and you’ll be a “force multiplier” for our R&D efforts by making it possible to build new features safely and quickly. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast paced start up with growth potential!

What a Site Reliability Engineer means to us...

• Guide our approach to cloud-based infrastructure, using a mixture of processes, procedures, tooling and automation.

• Perform complex problem resolution and debugging of internal and vendor-supplied tools.

• Develop systems for other engineering teams that are secure, scalable, reliable, and user-empowering.

• Work on cross-functional initiatives within Engineering and with non-technical stakeholders.

• Set the stage for building a team of multiple SREs.

Who you are. . .

• 8 years of experience in building and maintaining software infrastructure. 

• You are able to quickly learn and dive into new or unfamiliar technologies.

• Like to mentor other specialists and set a higher standard on the team.

• Are deeply passionate about running highly resilient/scalable systems.

• Embrace the configuration-as-code and automation-first attitudes.

• Have experience with:

• • AWS

• • Modern Unix/Linux operating systems/distributions

• • Terraform

• • Bonus points if you’re comfortable with Python.

We are a remote-first company, with concentrations of team members at our NYC headquarters and in the Boston area.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range Pearl Health expects to pay for this position is between $120,000 and $180,000 per year.  Full time employees are also eligible for annual discretionary bonus.
