Your Role As a HealthStreamer
Position Summary
Work in a team with other Site Reliability Engineers to maintain on premise and cloud infrastructure that supports the various Healthstream applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - (The below listed duties are not all inclusive. This position must also perform other duties as assigned.):
- Engineer solutions for premise servers, server clusters, backups, storage, and virtualization environments
- Complete support requests created by internal departments
- Create, modify, and update written procedures, processes, and technical support knowledge effectively and use this knowledge to provide consultation
- Collaborate with other engineers and operations teams to improve automation of workflows, infrastructure, code testing and deployment
- Identify systems that can benefit from automation, monitoring and infrastructure-as-code and develop and scale products and services accordingly
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support
- Assist in the companies' transition into a true DevOps environment
- Support administration of IaaS and PaaS cloud assets
What You Will Need to Be Successful
Education, Experience and Knowledge Required:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering or similar field preferred
- Minimum 4+ years experience in a Reliability Engineering or infrastructure focused role
- Experience in a 24X7 hosting environment
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Fundamental understanding of troubleshooting .Net applications running on IIS.
- Experience managing and maintaining server hardware
- Ability to complete standard tasks with VMWare 6.7+ whether in the GUI or CLI
- Core Windows administration
- Advanced Linux administration with networking concepts
- Working knowledge of designing, configuring and maintaining common web applications
- Working knowledge of Windows Active Directory (user management, GPO management, domain hierarchy)
- Working knowledge of IP networking, DNS, and load balancing
- Working knowledge of Monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, SolarWinds)
- Ability to complete advanced tasks with Azure and AWS whether in the GUI or CLI
- Experience with IAC tools such as Ansible, Packer, and Terraform
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Think creatively, learn dynamically and solve problems effectively
- Automation advocate - you truly believe in removing operation load with software
- Communicate effectively, including writing, listening, and speaking
- Perform effective time management
- Self-motivate and work efficiently with limited supervision
