Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) III
Job Description
Do you enjoy working on large-scale distributed systems? Liquidity Risk program is a multi-year initiative to support the Firm's enhanced liquidity risk management processes. The platform supports >250MM million transactions daily, calculates risk presented by the current as well as model-based state of the market and build multidimensional picture of corporate risk profile.
You will be a member of the Engineering team responsible for evolving the Liquidity Risk Infra to the next generation cloud platforms.
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will work closely with senior business partners (CIO, Treasury, etc.) and have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects platforming the liquidity risk infrastructure. You will work on enabling key new capabilities for the business including but not limited to flexible data analytics tools, stress calculators, trend analysis and helping build out a solid SDLC foundation.
Job responsibilities
- Guides and assists others in the areas of building appropriate level designs and gaining consensus from peers where appropriate
- Collaborates with other software engineers and teams to design and implement deployment approaches using automated continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines
- Collaborates with other software engineers and teams to design, develop, test, and implement availability, reliability, scalability, and solutions in their applications
- Implements infrastructure, configuration, and network as code for the applications and platforms in your remit
- Collaborates with technical experts, key stakeholders, and team members to resolve complex problems
- Understands service level indicators and utilizes service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers
- Supports the adoption of site reliability engineering best practices within your team
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on site reliability engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Experience in SRE engineering role for supporting highly available production systems in cloud environments (public and / or private)
- Experience with design and implementation of DevOps/SRE function implementing mature cloud DevOps and SRE best practices, supporting implementation and adoption of these standards
- Experience with enablement of monitoring and alerting tools and services for the applications build on prem-cloud, distributed microservice architecture
- Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages including Java, C#, Python, C/C++ or Node.js, SQL
- Experience working across product and engineering teams to help define SRE standards, drive implementation of SRE approaches and best practices as well as experience in using specific SRE tools and services
- Experience with implementing processes and runbooks to meet and deliver service level objectives (SLOs) as well as implementing tools and capabilities to track and measure performance against these objectives
