Signify Health is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our SRE and Release Management team.  Keys to our SRE culture include, but aren’t limited to teamwork, inquisitiveness, problem-solving, critical-thinking, transparency and diversity. Signify Health’s SRE team is a mix of software and systems engineers who build and operate reliable complex software systems at scale.

The goal of our SRE and Release Management team is to ensure Signify Health's services are reliable, scalable, and maintainable while optimizing and eliminating work through automation. The SRE approach to problem resolution emphasizes automation, improving system design, and building resilience into Signify Health’s systems so that we don’t have to repeatedly fix the same problems. In addition, SREs will monitor our systems capacity and performance.  As a Signify Health SRE, you’ll have the opportunity to manage the multifaceted challenges while using your expertise in coding, algorithms, complexity analysis and large-scale system design.

This role will report to our Director, SRE and Release Management.

What will you do?

• Design, develop and implement software that improves the stability, scalability, availability, and latency of Signify Health products
• Establish service-level objectives (SLOs); focused on system performance, availability, latency, efficiency, monitoring, capacity planning and emergency response, etc.
• Triage incidents and then decompose them into smaller pieces, identify probable root causes using skills gained through debugging code, operating networks, building hardware, or in other, entirely unrelated domains
• Implement application/infrastructure monitoring solutions and perform maintenance to ensure desired application availability
• Perform deployments in adherence to processes and procedures for high quality software and service delivery
• Communicate effectively and competently with other team members on functionality and integration points of application software
• Build and run capacity tests to manage the growth of our systems
• Plan for reliability by designing systems to work across multiple AWS Regions
• Develop tools to assist the product development teams with successfully deploying change sets
• Share the on-call rotation and be an escalation contact for incidents
• Utilize Jira to administer assignment progress, status, effort, and estimate
• Create and maintain documents for applications and systems which are developed or supported
• Document every action so your findings turn into repeatable actions–and then into automation

We are looking for someone with:

• Solid understanding of source code management, compilers, build configuration languages, automated build tools, package managers, and installers. In addition, deep knowledge of multiple domains: development, configuration management, test integration, system administration, and customer support
• Expertise with cloud-continuous deployment-based software development lifecycles
• Mastery of infrastructure automation technologies
• Mastery in at least one programming language (Java and/or Python)
• Containerization and orchestration experience (Docker, K8)
• Demonstrated experience with automation; knowledge of configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, and/or Ansible)
• Solid principles in cloud resources such as networking, load balancing, DNS, and security
• Passion for technology as well as helping customers and team members
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving systems engineering
• 3+ years working with cloud platform services (e.g., Azure, AWS, GC)
