What are we looking for?

We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer - Production Cloud whose objective is to "ensure product platform reliability”. 

This includes working hand in hand with our R&D, Security Operations, DevOps, and Core Engineering teams to enhance operations of our growing cloud footprint, including providing expert guidance on best practices, automating at scale, tuning, and optimization of in-use resources, and partnering with our Kubernetes team.

As part of our Site Reliability and Cloud Operations Organization, you’ll help SentinelOne continue to grow by ensuring rapid delivery of new features and stable and reliable operations for our customers that directly impacts revenue.

The Site Reliability Engineer - Production Cloud will bring deep expertise designing and supporting highly scalable, highly available infrastructure and applications in the Cloud as well as promoting infrastructure as code in multi-cloud and multi-tenant environments. You will serve as a subject matter expert on all aspects of our cloud operations, automation, and optimizations. You will provide technical leadership in the team as the subject matter expert on cloud deployments for a complex and highly available production system.

In addition, you will debug problems in production and test environments, advise developers on best practices applicable to the environment, and maintain reliable, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure. You will develop automation that improves deployment speed and service reliability in the cloud, Kubernetes, and containerized environments. You will help mentor other team members and customers on the adoption of new technologies and design principles as well as promote DevOps culture and collaboration.

  • Partner with other Operations teams (Release, Platforms, and Infrastructure) to facilitate collaboration between R&D and Operations 
  • Improve build automation including ensuring consistent, automated testing and effective management of vulnerability, security, and compliance concerns. 
  • Help facilitate and transition a move towards GitOps and leveraging modern approaches to enable highly automated builds, Infrastructure as Code, and consistent service delivery
  • Improve critical infrastructure to support our developer community

Critical Tactical Commitments

  • Responsible for the daily wellbeing of the SentinelOne SaaS Platform supporting customers who require compliance with US Federal Regulations.
  • Coordinate with the R&D, Dev Ops, and Cloud Team to manage solution updates, infrastructure changes, and new customer deployments
  • Work jointly with the Cloud Ops and DevOps teams to ensure the GovCloud environment is aligned to evolving organizational goals, policies, and practices
  • Lead engagement with Cloud Ops, NOC, and SOC teams to up-level monitoring practices ensuring end to end visibility of the entire GovCloud Space 
  • Coordinate on cloud migrations, Kubernetes deployments, and operations, while engaging with the support organization to ensure we continue to exceed service level objectives
  • Optimize organizational practices by providing vision, mentorship, and hands-on execution while you continue enhancing our organizational posture and team skillset
  • Enhancement of observability based upon Service Blueprints
  • Ensure and maintain delivery commitments

What skills, traits, and experience will ensure your success

  • Multi-Cloud operations and support following industry best practices (e.g. AWS Well-Architected Framework) and direct experience in at-scale administration, troubleshooting, and issue remediation in Public and Regulated Cloud Environments (AWS, AWS GovCloud, GCP, Azure, Azure-Jedi)
  • 3+ years CI/CD and Infrastructure Automation Experience with common platforms (Jenkins, Spinnaker, GitOps) and scripting (Terraform, Pulimi, CloudFormation, Ansible, Helm, Python)
  • Self-motivated individual who is interested in expanding their knowledge and skillset while improving on processes, procedures, and approaches that benefit the organization
  • A thoughtful individual who strives to find the best possible solutions to problems and the follow-through to see them from idea to execution
  • Reliable team player, yet able to work independently, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Docker & Kubernetes, familiarity with KOPS is an advantage
  • Experience with Big Data domain technologies such as HDFS, S3, BSpark, BFlink, Presto, Kafka is essential, and deep knowledge is a strong advantage
  • Team player, yet able to work independently, with interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
