Job Description

Norfolk Southern Corporation is currently seeking a SharePoint and Power Platform Engineer for a permanent position. The successful candidate must be an energetic problem solver with technical proficiency as a SharePoint Administrator and Power Platform subject matter expert; on-prem and cloud-based deployments. The applicant must be highly motivated to meet project deadlines and technology challenges. The engineer will work directly with NS technical teams to administer, monitor, and maintain the SharePoint Corporate Farm, Online Farm, and Power Platform environment. The engineer will be a part of the team that will define and architect our next generation of SharePoint deployments, Power App development, and incorporating SharePoint online and hybridization of the environment. The position also includes production support responsibilities including analyzing service issues, determining the causes and resolving them. The position will require participation in an on-call rotation. The successful candidate must be a very good communicator, both written and verbal, and have experience working with business areas to translate their business needs an d questions into technical requirements.

Responsibilities

  • SharePoint On Premises Farm Administration
  • SharePoint Online Administration
  • SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, Web Parts, and workflow creation
  • Corporate SharePoint Governance implementation and enforcement
  • SharePoint On Prem to Online Migrations
  • Development of solutions/applications for SharePoint
  • Leverage of out-of-the-box SharePoint functionality to deliver solutions
  • Support of externally facing SharePoint environment
  • Monitoring of performance, scalability, reliability, and availability (system & components)
  • Power Platform Administration and Governance
  • Microsoft Power Portals administration, implementation, customizations, development, and usage
  • Develop and Design Custom compone nts for PowerApp s



Skills and Experience

Required

  • 5+ years as a SharePoint Administrator
  • 2+ years working with SharePoint Online
  • 2+ years working with Power Platform
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Experience with Azure Active directory
  • Knowledge and use of supporting infrastructure such as Active Directory, DNS, Outlook, etc.
  • IIS use and administration
  • SQL Server experience
  • SharePoint Designer
  • SharePoint web part administration/development
  • Team building and problem resolution skills
  • Good English written and verbal skills
  • Ability to handle numerous conflicting priorities in a professional manner
  • Ability to implement and follow corporate policies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with solid teamwork ethic and customer focus.



Preferred

  • Experience with SharePoint migrations
  • Experience with SharePoint O365 services and migrations
  • Experience with SharePoint Hybrid Cloud/on-premises deployments
  • Experience with SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, Web Parts, and workflow creation
  • Experience with Office 365 tools including PowerApps, Flow, PowerAutomate
  • Experience with PowerApp creation and design
  • Hands-on experience in designing and developing entities in PowerApps
  • Experience with PowerAutomate
  • Experience with Power Platform administration
  • Understanding of Power Apps security capabilities, including Role-based authorization



Education

Bachelor's Degree preferred. Preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field.
