Hybrid : This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 days per week.

We are looking for a high-performing Sensing Software Integration Engineer. You will be part of a fast-paced, agile team responsible for defining, developing, and deploying the sensor alignment software for the vehicles of the future within the Active Safety and Autonomous Group. You will focus on the implementation and integration sensor alignment software and algorithms on the target platform for a highly advanced autonomous driving vehicle. You will work with multi-functional teams to quickly deliver in-house solutions and products that support GM's vision of a future with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion. Responsibilities
- Develop AV and active safety sensing software integration and test and enables sensing calibration/alignment technologies that will integrate into a targeted vehicle application, which include developing software and test use cases.
- Develop acceptance criteria and test cases at different integration levels covering all the way from unit testing to integration in-vehicle testing.
- Develop wide ranging test cases to test corner cases as well as simulated cases that were not considered during initial development.
- Develop robust test infrastructure and tools with a focus on quality, scalability, real-time processing, and high platform availability
- Comfortable with in-vehicle development processes, including prototyping, in-vehicle testing, workflow-analysis
- Communicate with engineering teams and other internal/ external customers
- Integrate with our CI/CD processes for new and existing services
- Assist in first level log/data collection, debug, triage, and root cause of critical issues
- Assist with test platform, tool and integration issues
Additional Description
Requirements
- BS or higher in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Computer Engineering or Computer Science
- 2+ years' experience in integration testing or software development
- 1+ years of experience with flash programming and utility files, and instrumentation (INCA, in circuit emulators)
- Ability to write and automate test scripts in Python or other languages
- Prior software experience, preferably in C/C++ with exposure to bash and windows batch scripting
- Knowledge of serial data communications (Ethernet (preferred), CAN, LIN, AUTOSAR)
- Knowledge and experience in system integration and testing of hardware and software
- Experience analyzing and verifying software requirements
- High level of analytical ability to resolve complex problems independently and investigate issues based on limited information
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with embedded microprocessors, cross compilers, low level memory, large code bases
- Experience with SAFe or Agile Scrum methodologies
- Exposure to the Adaptive AUTOSAR service-based vehicle platforms
- Knowledge of low-level hardware interfaces, serial programming, message authentication, diagnostics, vehicle electrical interfaces, legislated compliance, vehicle assembly and service tool interfaces, etc.
- Exposure to sensors - cameras, radars, LiDARs
