WHAT YOU'LL DO

As an Sr. Engineer you will provide Tier 3 and Sr. level Production Support, Engineering, and Administration duties. You will be involved in supporting and maintaining the different revenue generating business verticals on the Microsoft Windows Platform (OS, IIS and Web). You will be responsible for installation, configuration, technical administration, tuning, and monitoring of the Windows OS environment. Additionally, you will need to work with other IT Infrastructure teams and business partners such as application and database support as part of their daily role. You will also be responsible for working with the project teams on Environment Migration and supporting all development activities. Responsible for the definition, planning and execution of all infrastructure activities required to support Windows systems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sustain application performance monitoring with mindfulness for proactive performance tuning, improvements, usability and process automation
  • Respond to incidents within service level objectives. Actively asses the problem, execute problem resolution, and document root cause analysis to reduce future incidents
  • Provide subject matter expertise supporting multiple Microsoft product stacks such as Operating Systems, Active Directory, IIS
  • Take ownership of business systems and product infrastructure that are assigned to you, providing required support, as well as engaging in strategic planning for improvements
  • Support & Maintain both customer-facing production systems and QA and Dev systems
  • Guide the support, maintenance and documenting system functionality
  • Develop and maintain documentation including server build docs, configuration standards, infrastructure architecture
  • Install server operating system software, front-end and back-end server components, and production application services according to defined requirements and data center operations standards
  • Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation
  • Participates in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency support and maintenance of a 24x7 Production Environment
  • Responsible for managing projects for hardware/software deployments and modifications involving the Production Environment
  • Responsible for gathering relevant data to determine system capacity needs and make plans for capacity expansions in a proactive manner
  • Responsible for development and configuration practices that ensure a high level of performance and optimize capacity utilization

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • At least 6+ years of experience supporting Windows server platforms
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and/or other scripting utilities
  • Heightened sense of urgency AND caution regarding production issues and systems is imperative
  • Understand DNS (Internal and External) Management including MX and SPF records
  • Team leadership and collaboration with multiple groups
  • Web system experience required on various IIS version (6.0,7.0, 7.5, 8.0, 8.5)
  • Strong understanding of disaster recovery, backup and restoration procedures
  • Experience with VMWare/ESX, building servers in a virtual environment
  • Experience in a Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2016, 2019
  • MCSE certification preferred, if not need to show the ability to demonstration of knowledge and skills that are equivalent
  • Proficient in business software, including MS Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Visio applications
  • Experience with Web application workflow preferred or service with this type of SaaS model
  • Experience in troubleshooting network (LAN) software related to operations, administration, user accounts, and systems security
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer services skills and the ability to communicate with individuals of all levels internal and external to the organization
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required; some overnight work may be required and on-call duties required
