We are looking for experienced embedded software engineer with proven track records developing WiFi and other wireless connected devices for the Device Engineering team to help us define the future of IoT for residential and commercial properties by creating and integrating devices to our robust ecosystem.

You will be working with a team of talented engineers across a diverse set of technological backgrounds to design devices, build and manufacture hardware, architect and implement software, and collaborate in an agile and fast-paced environment.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • 8+ years of professional embedded Linux firmware development
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills with understanding of OOP and Design Patterns
  • Expert understanding of WiFi, WiFi Mesh, and relevant IEEE 802.11 protocols
  • Linux kernel, device driver, and BSP programming experience is essential
  • Familiarity with open-source WiFi support packages
  • Good understanding of RF concepts, PHY/MAC layers, IP, and IPv6 protocols
  • BS/MS/PhD in EE/CE/CS, or related field, or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Understanding of BLE, Thread, Matter, ZigBee, and IoT technologies is desirable

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical leadership on all things WiFi, and wireless connectivity technologies
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior team members
  • Work with engineering teams to develop embedded Linux applications using C/C++
  • Troubleshoot and resolve wireless connectivity issues
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with others to ensure the timely delivery of projects
  • Work with product managers and quality engineers to ensure the products meet Alarm.com's standards
  • Work with electrical and mechanical engineers to design and manufacture embedded Linux devices.
