WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Senior Engineering Manager will provide functional, technical and project leadership to a team of Full Stack Web Application Engineers that develop and maintain application supporting Marketing Services at RealPage. The team builds and maintains a proprietary Content Management System supporting and web components that are integrated with this content management system and other services to provide best in class marketing websites for our customers. This individual is a player coach; a leader who can inspire their team to deliver, as well as having the skills and desire to roll up their sleeves and jump into issues, from troubleshooting, to development. This leadership position also nurtures engineering excellence by fostering best practices including code reviews, reusable components, and test coverage.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide functional management (career development, reviews, team building, conduct 1:1's)
  • Interface with Product Managers and Product Owners to make sure work is properly defined, groomed, and has clear requirements for the Engineers.
  • Participate in the various activities for the Scrum process (planning, grooming, standups, retrospectives)
  • Document and oversee implementation of policies and procedures including coding standards, peer code reviews, use of standard frameworks.
  • Review and approve deliverables of team members
  • Manage the on-call engineering rotation
  • Scope and estimate new large efforts
  • Support client escalations and break/fix as needed.
  • Track, optimize and accelerate productivity and quality of team
  • Mentoring and training of new hires as well as career development for seasoned team members
  • Oversee development of themes and components that can be used across websites #LI-CP1 #LI-REMOTE



REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • 5-10+ years web/software development experience
  • BA/BS in computer science, or similar work experience.
  • People management/tech lead experience managing a team of at least five engineers
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with front end technologies, HTML / CSS / JavaScript
  • Extensive experience managing delivering of client web projects preferred
  • Strong operational and project management skills
  • Knowledge and mastery of agile/scrum/development practices
  • Great track record working with Product Managers
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.
  • Full stack software development experience in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of cloud best practices and scaling application in a cloud architecture.
