Job Description

Job role and Responsibilities

As a Senior Member of the Technical Staff you will build upon our core pillars of documentation, API analytics and language bindings and lead the development of the front end of our end-to-end service for API development. In this role you will work closely with our Design partner(s) and product Architect helping us create an experience focused platform for developers. You will have weekly opportunities to demonstrate your work to the broader DX team and share your efforts and elicit feedback.

  • Lead the development of our front-end of our API Experience platform leveraging both modern design and UI techniques and tools.
  • Mentor and less-experienced developers helping them transform UI/UX designs into code and debug web related problems.
  • Closely collaborate with peer engineers and Design partners to identify, design and build our platform surrounding all facets of API development.
  • Closely collaborate with a geographically diverse team to co-develop while ensuring consistency across the suite of products and services.
  • Initiate and engage in discussions and ideation of creative solutions in all facets of API development and specification design, authentication, error handling, API definition.
  • Advocate user needs throughout the development lifecycle in an agile, iterative environment to ensure problem-solution fit.
  • While focused on the front-end you'll understand and participate in discussions and decision making about areas beyond your scope helping shape the overall product.


Required Skills

  • experience developing websites using one or more interactive web frameworks such as React and/or Angular 10.
  • You have deep experience building websites using REST/OpenAPI and or GraphQL APIs from the browser.
  • Strong communications skills and command of English language (verbal and written)
  • Ability to translate web designs from tools such as Figma and Sketch into pixel perfect web experiences.
  • 5+ years of experience writing and debugging TypeScript code.
  • Strong debugging skills and knowledge of debuggers and browser based Developer tools.
  • Positive, problem-solving personality, strong creative thinking and ability to operate with little guidance
  • git is your preferred source control tooling and you possess a command of git workflows
  • You are comfortable presenting your work in a group setting for peer/manager/PM review.
  • You have deep sense of UX and can collaborate to with others to built great end-to-end experiences.
  • You can work in close collaboration to iterate designs quickly in cases where we need to prototype ideas.
  • You are agile, adaptable, and capable of delivering new features and creative solutions
  • You are self motivated and capable of delivering remotely and maintaining your own todo list as prioritized with your manager and the team


Preferred Skills

  • You have a good understand of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and the factors that impact Google Indexing.
  • You have worked with web analytics platforms such as Google Analytics and understand how to measure the effectiveness web interfaces (A/B testing).
  • You value end user experience and are capable of building engaging UX for highly technical users.
  • You are familiar with implementing and debugging asynchronous programming.

This job may require the candidate to travel and/or work from a facility that requires full vaccination prior to entry.
