The OptumRx ServiceNow delivery team which is part of Reliability and Enterprise is responsible for delivering enterprise-wide software updates to users/departments who use ServiceNow. Our innovative and comprehensive software updates help our users to facilitate their job responsibilities and satisfy customer service requests, reporting and reporting metrics to multiple teams.
As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will team up with other delivery team members to ensure the quality of the ServiceNow application. Your job function will include and not be limited to:

  • Performing automation testing (manual on demand execution as well as scheduled execution)
  • Support maintenance of automation test scripts and decommission those that become obsolete
  • Mentor Junior Automation engineers, create and execute automated test scripts
  • Continue to grow and evolve the test automation using best practices and new technologies
  • Attend daily stand-up meetings, assist with manual testing as needed, while supporting regression as well as automated functional tests
  • Utilize ALM test repository to manage the backlog of manual tests which are scheduled to be automated and utilize Jenkins to schedule automation tests and report on automation test metrics
  • Attend and/or support monthly software releases
  • As the Sr Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for creating or updating methods used that interact with the Automation test scripts

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate as a member of an agile team
  • Partner with development teams to design, develop, and deliver automation tests that exercise software enhancement testing based on business specifications
  • Encourage best practices in creating and executing automation test scripts
  • Support and troubleshoot automation test scripts when there is an automation failure

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT related or equivalent field experience
  • 3+ years of experience in software automation (creating and supporting automation test scripts)
  • Previous experience using Gherkin syntax
  • Proficient in the use of Selenium - Eclipse, along with TestNG
  • Proficient in Java and Java concepts


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Jenkins (job scheduler)
  • Experience with Pearl and/or Python
  • Experience with Server Software as it relates to Automation - IE: (Chrome Driver, Eclipse)
  • Experience working with Git based source control, branching, and workflows
  • Experience with ServiceNow is also a plus
  • Has experience creating and implementing automation framework and scalability of such framework that supports automation growth
  • Functional SME with automation tools and concepts
  • Broad business approach and deep understanding of software automation, quality practices and SDLC
  • Responsible for automation development standards using proper design and architecture
  • Ability to work independently, and collaborate with others as integral part of the team

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
