About the job
The Red Hat Business Unit team is looking for a Senior Technical Instructor to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training to Red Hat clients and partners on the usage and application of Red Hat's core emerging technology products.
What you will do

  • Be responsible for custom course and curriculum development on Red Hat's core emerging technology products, including working with customers to understand their needs and expectations, determining the scope of work, building the course and curriculum, and conducting the course
  • Develop, prepare, and deliver other custom course and training materials as needed to support
  • custom workshops and webinars
  • Perform "Train the Trainer" sessions and support upskilling activities for instructors in all regions internationally
  • Work with customers during training implementation to understand the most suitable configurations of Red Hat's emerging technology products and how they can be adapted for the specific customer environments and use cases and provide customized training focused on these adapted environments
  • Assess learning needs and develop training plans for customers and work with sales teams to craft customer-specific training proposals


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in computer science, engineering (any), or a related field and 5+ years of experience in the job offered or related role
  • Must have the following certifications: Red Hat Certified Enterprise Application Developer and Red Hat Certified Engineer
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux administration and management, Java SE (8 and 11), Java EE development, and Java EE application server administration and management
  • Container internals using control groups, namespaces, and SELinux; administration and configuration of Apache ServiceMix (Red Hat Fuse); integration and development using Apache Camel, working as a technical instructor with virtual delivery experience; RESTful-based architecture application development; curriculum/course development and management experience; courseware creation based on ASCIIDoc or DocBook; virtual machine deployment and administration; Container image development and management based on Open Container Initiative standards; Message Broker administration and Java Messaging Services-based application development; and system development.
  • 4+ years of experience with Spring Framework-based development, and with Spring Cloud and Spring Boot
  • 3+ years of experience with: Kubernetes administration and management; administration and customization of 3scale API Gateway; OpenShift deployment, administration, and configuration; automation tool deployment and customization; DevOps and agile practices methodology implementation; Ansible playbook/roles development and troubleshooting; container image customization to support security concerns
  • 2+ years of experience with Istio (Red Hat Service Mesh) deployment and customization
  • 1+ year(s) of experience with: Quarkus and Kubernetes Operator development
  • Travel required 70% of the time
  • Travel expenses reimbursed by Red Hat, Inc.
