As the Technical Consultant, you will work closely with the SGS execution team to help shape, define, and translate the needs of the customer to the SGS product suite. You will be responsible for driving the development and deployment of customer-facing applications and solutions. The Technical Consultant will report directly to, and work closely with, the Senior Director, Customer Delivery & Operations and will be a vital team member in shaping the overall delivery team strategy and structure, this role has a high probability of managing the delivery engineering and data science teams as SGS continues to grow. An ideal candidate possesses strategic and analytical aptitude, software development expertise, and excellent interpersonal skills.
If you were working for us today, you would be:

  • Engage directly with customers to design, develop, and deploy AI-based applications
  • Partner with project managers to address internal and external technical risks, issues, and dependencies, even when ownership lies outside the team.
  • Represent development in external status meetings, communicating technical approaches and challenges on behalf of SGS's entire development team.
  • Understand the client's systems architecture and how the application(s) being developed by SGS will integrate with the client's systems.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and enhance customer applications to continuously identify technical risks and gaps, ultimately devising mitigation strategies in anticipation of SGS customer needs
  • Drive collaboration across internal platform development teams, ensuring that features and implementations for each platform remain in sync with the product vision and roadmap.
  • Support solution deployments: work closely with SGS engineering to ensure successful software releases and enforce proper procedures to be followed. Own go/no-go decisions.


You may be a fit for our team if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or proven relevant experience
  • 7+ years' software industry experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in a delivery leadership role
  • Experience delivering and shaping software solutions
  • Hands-on experience with agile software development methodologies
  • Strong, demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Travel expected to be 25% or less
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance when needed
  • Must be a US Citizen


It would be great if you had:

  • 3+ years experience working as a Solutions or Software Architect
  • Experience delivery AI/ML solutions, preferably to the Federal/DoD market
  • Experience with core Azure/AWS services as well as advanced, DevOps, and data services
  • Experience with the implementation of SaaS cloud-based and on-prem solutions
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL database technologies
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, and other container technologies
  • Direct management of software engineering and/or data science teams
  • A clear understanding of Data Science and AI fundamentals is a real plus
