Edward Jones has an exciting opportunity for a Network Performance Technical Architect capable of delivering network solutions that will support and advance the strategies of a growing financial services organization.
The Network Performance Architect will need to develop an understanding of current capabilities, technology strategy and the alignment to business goals and operating constraints of the IT organization. As a performance subject matter expert, this role must be able to synthesize architecture plans with an informed view of new and emerging technology solutions across the branch and enterprise. This role often leads via influence across multiple functions to achieve overall domain and IT maturity while partnering closely with senior leadership.
As a member of the Infrastructure Network Engineering & Operations team, this role contributes across multiple areas to architect modern, innovative, robust, secure and high performing operationalized solutions to support the organization. The incumbentwill drive the integrated performance across Branch, CORE, Campus, and Cloud Networking while maintaining an emphasis on influencing the architectural blueprints. The role assumes diverse skill sets in performance, networking, compute, storage, application domains with focus on NetDevOps principles and tooling.
The Network Performance Architect will need to provide both strategic and tactical performance architectural guidance, technological vision, and solution deployment. The role will need to collaborate with Infrastructure, Application Architecture, DevOps, Cloud COE, FBS, Enterprise Architecture, Security and distributed, domain-specific architects to drive strategies and solution integrated performance. This role also works closely with senior leaders and subject matter experts to develop target architecture blueprints and roadmaps, present recommendations to management and explain why it is in the organization's best interest to pursue.
This motivated and driven individual needs to possess experience in IT organizations that followed IaC methods to build solutions based on cloud (Azure, AWS, Google, etc.), SDWAN/SASE for large deployment branch network (+15,000 locations), VoIP, Wi-Fi, software defined and virtual networks (NSX-T), MPLS and other typical network technologies (DNS, FW/IPS, load balancing, wireless, etc.) in compliance with security postures.
Responsibilities

  • Ensure the integrated performance of our current and future business segment solution provide and exceptional user experience.
  • Work to understand the customer, their needs, and concerns to define solutions.
  • Develop and Translate business requirements into solutions that support EJ business strategy while ensuring architectural adherence through blueprint and design reviews.
  • Lead in scope/predictable timeline definition, requirements gathering/analysis, technical design, development, configuration, testing, deployment, and operationalizing of secure network infrastructure solutions.
  • Work closely with engineering teams and program management to deliver the solution to market within project timelines based on Scrum methods.
  • Provide technical oversight during the delivery phase of the project.
  • Validate delivered solutions meet/perform to secure technical and functional/non-functional requirements.
  • Demonstrate expertise across multiple secure network infrastructure domains including branch network, cloud, campus and core network, voice, video conferencing and end-user computing.
  • Serve as an expert forIaaS end-to-end architecture and automation, including on premise and cloud deployments.
  • Support the acceleration of IaC automation initiatives across all infrastructure domains.
  • Evaluate and recommend opportunities to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of infrastructure and operations with the intention of elevating the stability, observability, and resiliency of systems.
  • Solid understanding of virtualization/containerization and cloud computing technologies with passive engagement in its commencing.
  • Solid understanding of software CI/CD pipelines and integration with IaC methods. Contribute to DevOps development activities.
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively present recommendations and decisions with pertinent data and research.
  • Maintain high degree of industry knowledge on latest trends, technologies, etc.
  • Lead technical analysis of persistent issues to determine root cause and resolution
  • Provide thought leadership and mentorship to team members across business and technical teams in solving complex business requirements.
  • Demonstrate forward thinking around where the organization is going and how technology can support these efforts.
  • Ability to influence and work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment balancing strategic and tactical needs.
  • Ability to matrix manage small teams to achieve quality and timely results.
