Job Title: Sr. Systems Engineer, Confluence - Business Technology

The Sr. Systems Engineer will join the team responsible for supporting and maintaining innovative product solutions that support the needs of our Salesforce employees. Confluence will be the primary service of ownership, but as a member of the Productivity team in Business Technology, you'll have opportunities to assist with engineering and operations of other related products, including Atlassian, Google Workspace, Slack, cloud storage, digital whiteboard and diagramming, and other productivity tools.

Your Impact - Responsibility:

• Administration of Atlassian Confluence and its related integrations; maintain the overall application and system health
• Perform configuration changes, upgrades, patches, security remediation following standard change management practices
• Report on Confluence performance, health, and usage
• Provide user/account management and support for 70,000+ local and remote users
• Provide feedback to the operations team for design changes based on operational data, root cause analysis, and business needs
• Create and lead the framework for workspaces, access, administration
• Run and administer Confluence add-ons, plugins, and extensions
• Engage vendors for support and troubleshooting as needed
• Collaborate with primary stakeholders and consumers of Confluence
• Troubleshoot break/fix issues and perform root cause analysis
• Capacity planning, monitoring, performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Ensure standardization of the environment
• Occasional after hours/weekend work to support space migrations from mergers & acquisitions

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years of broad IT work experience including operations and support in Enterprise environments with over 4,000 users
• Extensive knowledge of Atlassian Confluence Data Center version for building and maintaining HA and DR solutions
• Experience troubleshooting and working with the Confluence database (Postgres preferred)
• Atlassian Certified Confluence Administrator
• Competent in working within Linux OS (RedHat, CentOS)
• Experience with APIs, tool integrations, and writing scripts (Python, Bash, Powershell)
• Ability to create pipelines in Jenkins and integrating it with Ansible and Git
• Updating packages on Linux Servers using Ansible
• Automating UI testing (Selenium)
• Understanding of performance monitoring, tuning, and test tools for Atlassian products and underlying technologies
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies or concepts quickly
• Self-motivator who can run with tasks and projects on their own
• Breadth of knowledge of various infrastructure services (apps, systems, storage, databases, network, endpoints, mobile devices, workspace technology)
• Ability to work on multiple efforts simultaneously and balance conflicting demands
• Customer service oriented with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills
• Ability to work well and collaborate with other teams of various skill levels
• Strong analytical skills coupled with technical creativity and vision

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience running Confluence in AWS for an enterprise organization
• Experience with other Atlassian products
• Experience with SaaS, PaaS and IaaS
• Background in Information Security
• One or more industry certifications
• Great oral and written communication skills

This role is Office-Flex (~1-3 days/wk in office) or Fully Remote
