About the Role

We are looking for a Developer - Site Reliability to join our SRE team. Our systems run globally and scale to handle more than 250 billion events per day with continued exponential growth. Security is what we do and reliability is what we need in order to provide the best possible Security Operations for our customers. We live and breathe Infrastructure-as-Code and are working hard to build a world class CI/CD pipeline. The SRE team is not a classic Operations team with a fancy label, but a software engineering role with a focus on reliability.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Help develop SRE processes and best practices

  • Design, develop, and deploy software to help scale the customer-facing services with a focus on security and reliability

  • Work with the Platform Engineering teams to continue to develop the continuous delivery and observability systems

  • Collaborate with the R&D product teams in developing reliable, scalable, observable systems

  • Triage and debug production incidents, and participate in blameless postmortems

  • Reduce toil by automating everything

We value a culture of sharing, so every team has the opportunity to share their work with the entire department during our monthly R&D Demos. Once a year we hold a department-wide Hackathon, teaming up across all R&D teams over four days to collaborate and build cool ideas outside the normal project scope. While innovation is the focus, some of these ideas do make it into our products.

About You

The following are technologies that we use and teach. You may have some exposure to and an interest in:

  • Working in an SRE team responsible for large-scale services

  • SRE concepts, principles and processes

  • Designing, building and running distributed, scalable systems

  • Development experience in Python, Go, or Java

  • Core AWS technologies including EC2, ECS, EKS, S3 and CloudFormation

  • Kubernetes at scale

  • Ubuntu or other Linux variants

  • Messaging services like Kafka or AWS SQS/SNS

Previous security experience is preferred but not required. We provide all the cybersecurity training you need during onboarding and on-the-job training.

Interview process

The interview process is approximately as follows:

  • Phone pre-screening: A recruiter contacts you to briefly discuss your work history and provide an overview of Arctic Wolf. Approximately 30 minutes.

  • Technical assessment: A recruiter sends you a link to a straightforward technical assessment that is relevant to the role you are applying for. Approximately 1 hour.

  • Face-to-face interviews: Several team members conduct two interviews to learn more about you and provide more information about your potential role and team. Be prepared to collaborate on a technical problem and talk more about past projects and your career goals. Approximately 1 hour per interview.

Employment Requirements:

Each successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal background check and an employment verification as a condition of employment.
