Job Description

Torch Technologies has an exciting opportunity within the Strategic Systems Business Unit in Huntsville, Alabama as a highly experienced Senior Systems Design Engineer well-versed in DoD weapon system development with a focus on Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures (TC) systems, Associated Objects (AO), Hypersonic solutions, and prototyping of other technologies as required.

The applicant will:
• Serve as a Senior Systems Design Engineer with extensive missile defense design, development, testing, evaluation, fielding, and technical leadership experience.
• Develop and apply innovative methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of extremely complex missile defense system engineering requirements and challenging problems requiring the expert and innovative application of advanced superior knowledge. Review completion and implementation of systems additions, enhancements/upgrades and recommends corrections in technical application and analysis to technical and program management.
• Review and evaluate prime/OEM contractor objective evidence, capabilities, and provides technical consultation to other organizations as required.
• Develop, maintain, and identify improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
• Provide technical leadership for other Torch employees in the HSV area as required.

Job Requirements

Bachelors or Master Degree in Engineering or related field is required along with a minimum of 30 years' technical and senior executive experience.

Specifically, the Applicant will be required to:
• Serve as lead engineering advisor regarding the design and development of hypersonic technologies in support of MDA Targets and Countermeasures (TC).
• Collaborate with MDA/TC and TCM Chief Engineers regarding complex payload/booster design requirements, performance, and integration.
• Provide oversight for hardware/software design, development, and testing to optimize performance and effectiveness.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for MDA/TC Futures' development and subsequent transition to TC program efforts.

Position requires that candidate meet requirements to obtain a final Top Secret security clearance to access classified information. Candidates with an active TS/SCI are strongly preferred. Inability to obtain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
