JOB OVERVIEW

TE Connectivity's Product Architecture teams fulfill a unique role in our new product development cycle. The Product Architecture team is responsible for building a pipeline of new and innovative ideas that can be then transferred to the Product Development Team for new product development. They drive content growth through opportunities, unmet needs, and new product ideas. This is achieved by engaging with and tracking emerging appliance technology and market trends, engaging with customer advanced development teams, aligning existing product line roadmaps, and defining product line opportunities. The team must be able to track and identify these key trends as well as be able to clearly summarize and communicate these findings to organization. A Product Architect requires the technical expertise of a Product Development Engineer but also the broad industry visibility of a Product Manager or Field Engineer. This unique perspective allows our Product Architecture Team to better understand the customer and market needs and influence our overall product strategy. Typical fields of expertise include: Engineering (mechanical, electrical), product management, program management, field engineering.

At the end of the two years, you will be prepared for future advancement into critical technical and/or leadership roles in the organization.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As a Senior Appliance Product Architect in our Appliance Business Unit, this individual will be focused on the appliance industry and will interface with customers globally in order to understand how their systems function, modularization level and determine their evolving technology needs. The Senior System Architect is responsible for generating the high-level system architecture requirements and together with Product Management help ensuring the TE Appliance technology and product roadmaps are in line with customer next generation products. This person is required to follow and help drive strategy for key industry communication standards.

A typical day may include:

  • Interfacing with key OEM and other focus appliance customers (OEM and 1stiers)
  • Identifying potential technology disrupters (which often requires expertise in various technologies)
  • Integrating customer needs, gather industry knowledge, and business insight to create compelling trends around technology and product trends that will drive the organization forward
  • Influencing executive leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to invest in new technology and products to meet the next generation needs of our customers and the market
  • Working within a small geographically dispersed system architecture team to share subject matter expertise and best practices



WHAT YOUR BACKGROUND SHOULD LOOK LIKE

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering. (A dual bachelor's degree in business or MBA is a plus)
  • 7 to 10 years' experience in domestic appliance and/or component supplier industry system design and related technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of system architecture of Appliances such as (Refrigerator and Freezer, Stove, Washer/Dryer), as well as good understanding of compressor and de-frost technologies
  • Technical knowledge of BT and sensor application such as temperature, force, flow rate detection
  • Familiarity with market trends such as "connected" and/ or "Smart" Home, ambient light, advanced production processes "IoT / Cobots)" and appliance standardization requirements such as UL 250, CQC, IEC 60335-1 /2-24 /2-34 to meet safety regulations and energy saving regulations in all regions globally
  • The geographically dispersed group requires that the candidate be self-motivating with the ability to take the initiative to accomplish tasks with limited direction
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Effectively able to build relationships with external customers and industry leaders as well as internally across all levels, disciplines, and geographies
  • Ability to spend 10%-20% of your time traveling

COMPENSATION• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $89,000 - $112,000 a year (subject to change dependent on physical location)• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
