We are looking for the best and brightest to join us in designing for the future!ResponsibilitiesYou may be involved in multiple facets of new silicon development, validation, and support including prototyping new designs in FPGA emulation systems, validating and debugging new hardware features, adapting firmware baselines, bringing up and debugging high level operating systems, performance analysis, and developing automated regression test suites.
Throughout the program you may be interacting with architects, hardware design teams, software and firmware teams, and systems teams for feature definition and refinement, hardware support, optimization, and debug.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5 + years or more years of experience in similar projects including external debugging JTAG
  • Good communication skills, self-starter with ability to facilitate cross group collaboration across Microsoft internal groups and external vendors
  • 2+ Experience in board peripherals (uart, usb, PCIe, dma, iommu etc.)
  • 2+ Experience in silicon bring up, boot flow, firmware and operating system debug
  • Experience with Linux or Windows operating system Kernel and user mode applications
  • Experience working across diverse teams resulting in the development of complex hardware designs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, TCL, etc.
  • Experience with C and assembly programming
  • Experience in requirements gathering and specification of complex hardware designs
  • Experience with silicon bring up and debug
  • Experience with firmware boot systems like UBOOT and UEFI
  • Experience with Linux or Windows operating system Kernel and user mode applications
  • Familiarity with lab test equipment including high speed oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
  • Familiarity with silicon design flows and RTL design
