About the job
The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Senior Storage Solutions Architect with Linux administration expertise to join us. In this role, you will work with our regional account executives to achieve sales and revenue goals, as well as evaluate the technical needs of new or potential customers and provide them with solutions. Solutions include areas like big data storage, containers and storage, and hybrid cloud storage. You'll work with customers through remote and on-site meetings, presentations, demonstrations, and proofs of concepts. We'll need you to have a thorough knowledge of Red Hat cloud storage offerings and how they compare to competitors' products. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Act as the technical point of contact for current and prospective customers, as well as the Sales team
  • Ensure revenue quota, deployment, and service objectives are met while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Develop and implement storage sales strategies to help ensure Red Hat objectives are met
  • Position and present Red Hat solutions and technical proposals to current and prospective customers
  • Gather the architectural and design details of solutions to meet customers' needs and present them to the customer
  • Research and write responses to technical sections of requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for information (RFIs)
  • Manage and support presales pilots, demonstrations, proofs of concepts, evaluations, and benchmarking
  • Work with big data and cloud products like Apache Hadoop, containers, cloud providers, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, and Red Hat OpenShift platforms to provide storage solutions


What you will bring

  • 3+ years of experience with Linux and Windows system administration
  • 3+ years of experience as a sales engineer or equivalent supporting enterprise accounts
  • 1+ year(s) of experience working with virtualization technologies, or a VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • Familiarity with the solution selling process in the enterprise software market
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Good customer-facing skills, especially with C-level executives
  • Knowledge of networking and complex software integration
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification is a plus
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Ceph Storage, Red Hat Storage, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, and OpenShift platforms is a plus
