Senior Splunk Engineer
Our Opportunity:
Chewy’s IT Systems Intelligence Team supports all things Splunk, which enables our end-users to leverage machine-generated data from across the organization. We are seeking an experienced frontend Splunk Engineer to join our growing team.
The IT Systems Intelligence team is responsible for supporting the enterprise logging platforms and services that assist teams with discovering innovations, efficiencies, and application issues. We are looking for an Engineer in Dania Beach, FL that has excellent technical skills, has experience building reliable and scalable solutions, and has a strong passion for driving insights with data. Most importantly, we’re looking for a candidate that is deeply passionate about data and looking to grow their career in a fast-growing and fast-paced dynamic environment. In this role, you will have the opportunity to get your hands dirty using cutting-edge technologies, consult with teams to promote best practices, develop high-quality content, provide user support, and develop advanced Splunk searches and dashboards.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with teams across Chewy to drive innovative solutions for data usage
- Design and develop high-quality content for scalability, reliability, and performance
- Solve complex Splunk problems using your knowledge of advanced searching and dashboarding
- Implement integrations with external apps and systems as needed
- Promote and educate our user community on Splunk search, alert, and dashboard best practices
- Undertake day-to-day operational and community support
- Perform data interpretation, classification, and enrichment
- Create and manage knowledge objects such as fields, extractions, tags, event types, lookups, workflow actions, aliases, and macros
- Configure summary-based reports and data model acceleration
What You’ll Need:
- 3+ years of developing advanced Splunk dashboards and searches in Splunk
- 3+ years of scripting experience (such as Python, JavaScript, or other)
- Thorough understanding of Splunk’s Simple XML Framework and application structure
- Experience with regular expressions
- Passionate about driving insights with data and Splunk products
- Position may require travel
Bonus:
- Experience creating dashboards in Dashboard Studio
- Experience with Ansible and Git
- Experience with Machine Learning
- Experience in Web Design
