This role allows you to work from anywhere you choose across the U.S. (excluding U.S. territories), with the flexibility to work from the Seattle HQ office as often as you’d like. Please note that no matter where you are located, all employees should be available during our core working hours from 10 am to 4 pm PT Monday through Friday.
Your role and impact
As a Senior Software Test Engineer here at 98point6, you will own the end-to-end process in testing our primary care platform on iOS, Android and Web products. You will collaborate to improve our platform and engineering team's test coverage, release tempo and production environment quality. You will partner with other test engineers, software engineers and product managers to ensure we deliver a complete, holistic experience to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Interpret technical requirements and design specifications for features to develop high-value test plans and test cases
- Generate system test work products by applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools
- Ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action, engage relevant Client teams to help design solutions using 98point6 products and services through creative and adaptive approaches
- Write, execute, document and peer review well-structured test cases and plans
- Write audience-appropriate documentation for defects and validation reports
- Identify gaps in requirements and test coverage and implement resolution
- Ability to manage your own time and contribute to estimating then meeting delivery deadlines and commitments
- Support/mentor team members as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience manually testing consumer iOS, Android or Web applications
- Working knowledge of a CLI (Mac OS/Linux command line interface preferred)
- A high level of ownership, flexibility and self-direction
- Ability to consider the big picture, make decisions with a sense of urgency and help innovate in a rapidly growing environment
- Ability to think analytically with accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Experience working in an Agile Scrum development environment
- Prior Test Engineering/Software Test Engineering/Quality Assurance Engineering experience
- Knowledge of API usage desired
