Mission of the Position
The Software & HIL Test Engineer is responsible for the design and development of validation documentation, software, SIL models, HIL models, test scripts and components. Working from broad specifications, the engineer not only performs, but is responsible for guiding engineering activities.
As a Software & HIL Test engineer, you will support a team that develops and validates drive systems for future electric and hybrid vehicles as well as other electric drives in motor vehicles. The engineer will work independently to perform a variety of basic engineering assignments with varied responsibility but may require some guidance and direction from a senior engineer/mentor or manager.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, development and problem resolution of new and existing software, SIL models, HIL models, test scripts and components for powertrain products.
- Cascade test specifications from system to components and delivery of test plans and test designs to the specifications.
- Document detailed test plans, test design, analysis, computer modeling, prototype/production test scripts and specification releases.
- Carrying out software integration tests on the HIL system.
- Conduct research, new tools, best practices and alternative approaches to optimal software development and testing.
- Supervision of the HIL structure Integrating the system into the Continuous Integration Toolchain (Jenkins).
- Develop validation product/system practices and procedures for advanced industry technologies like Cybersecurity, Global B and AutoSAR (wherever product relevance).
- Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced team members.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
- High level of analytical ability and understanding of engineering theory and principles of design.
- Experience in MATLAB, Simulink, dSPACE toolchains (AutomationDesk, ConfigurationDesk, ControlDesk NexGen) required.
- Very good programming skills in Python and C
- Working knowledge in computer-based software, powertrain controls experience, strong organizational/communication skills, and the ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Minimum of 5 (five) years of experience in design and development of validation documentation, software, SIL models, HIL models, test scripts and components.
- Experience writing detailed test plans, test design, analysis, computer modeling, prototype/production test scripts and specification releases.
- Experience in dealing with dSpace/NI/Vector systems is required.
- Committed personality with initiative, team spirit and self-organization.
- Sound knowledge of functional safety (ISO26262) and Cyber Security testing (ISO/SAE 21434) w.r.t software testing.
- Experience in the field of automotive quality management or software quality assurance based on ASPICE and the ISO 26262 standard is an advantage.
- ISTQB/ASTQB Foundation or Advanced test certification preferred.
- Great interest in e-mobility.
