Position Summary:

Bedrock’s E-Commerce Software Engineer (SE) is responsible for the development of new features, troubleshooting of technical issues, and research of new technologies related to the Shinola and Filson E-Commerce websites. At Bedrock, SEs are full stack developers, capable of working with various programming languages and have a strong understanding of integrations, specifically using REST APIs.

A successful candidate will need to be proficient in using PHP, JS, MySQL, HTML, and CSS and considerate of business requirements and deadlines. It is expected that SEs will be collaborative with other team members and flexible with evolving technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Integrations between Magento and other third-party applications and services
  • Development of new features and troubleshoot issues on Magento 2 websites
  • Estimation of new development tasks and projects
  • Collaboration with marketing, creative, customer service, and IT teams on new features, projects and the troubleshooting of e-commerce applications
  • Stay up to date on the latest technologies and coding standards related to E-Commerce applications
Skills and Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of development experience using similar technologies
  • Experience working with open-source e-commerce platforms--preferably Magento 2
  • Comfortable using ticket management systems, such as Jira, to track progress on tasks and projects
  • Communicates openly and effectively, both verbally and electronically, asking questions and giving input where necessary
  • Experience working in an agile development environment, preferably using Scrum
  • Advanced understanding of PHP, MySQL, CSS, HTML, and JS
Education/Certifications:
  • Two-year college degree required or applicable trade school, or equivalent working experience--four-year college degree preferred
Hiring Overview: 
  • HR Phone Screening - 30 minutes via Microsoft Teams (camera off)
  • Technical Interview with Hiring Manger  - 1 hour via Microsoft Teams (camera on)
  • Take home assignment - 30minutes -2 hours of work
    • note: select positions may not require a case study assignment
  • Final Interview with Panel - 1 hour via Microsoft Teams (camera on)
