Senior Software Engineer
The Thomson Reuters Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) Platform team is looking for a talented, experienced and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our group. Help us as we begin building a new CIAM platform that will provide the customer authentication and authorization services used by hundreds of Thomson Reuters products and thousands of APIs.
The CIAM Platform team is an ideal place to build your network and grow your career at Thomson Reuters, as you work with developers from around the world to help them migrate their products and existing CIAM systems to our new platform. You will also build your skills in the identity and security space.
Join us as we fulfill our vision of consolidating numerous existing identity systems used by Thomson Reuters products into a single enterprise solution that will decrease overall costs, simplify the enterprise portfolio, and improve the identity management experience for Thomson Reuters customers.
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:
- Write new software, make modifications to existing software, and integrate software applications and modules as part of an agile software development process.
- Write well-designed, well-constructed, and well-tested code.
- Participate in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide design options, and provide work breakdown and estimates of work.
- Provide status updates for own scope of work within projects.
- Participate in internal team and status meetings.
- Research and recommend enhancements and new features, working closely with development leads.
- Provide technical support and resolution for customer-related issues.
- Provide creative and elegant solutions to complex problems.
- Prepare technical specifications and documentation.
- Participate in software releases.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Senior Software Engineer if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in a software development related occupation
- Experience developing in Java or .NET
- Experience writing REST web services
- Experience with database development using SQL
- Familiarity with Tomcat and/or Apache servers
- Familiarity with AWS and cloud computing
- Ability to use object-oriented analysis and design techniques
- Experience using agile/scrum development methodologies
Preferred Skills:
- Proficient in shell scripting
- Working knowledge of LDAP
- Understanding of SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect protocols
- Identity & Access Management (IAM) experience preferred
