Senior Software Engineer

Our Hybrid engineering team is responsible for ensuring Menlo Security's rapidly growing cloud and partner solutions can meet very high levels of user demand while providing customers with excellent user experience at a reasonable cost.
We are looking for an engineer to help design and develop products. The ideal candidate would have some exposure to technical lead responsibilities, and experience of networked Linux systems and large scale cloud deployed platforms including upgrade patterns.
Every engineer plays a significant role in our journey to eliminate the threat of malware in the Enterprise and beyond. It’s an environment where you will be exposed to:
- Modern development tools and technology including Python, NodeJS, Docker, git and many more.
- The latest deployment and runtime models leveraging, Amazon AWS, Containers, data stores such as Redis, logging via Druid and Terraform,
- Cloud service design patterns.
- Large data sets and complex data structures.
- Delivering software from requirements definition to product in 2-6 week cycle times.
Requirements
- BSc or graduate degree in Computer Science, Maths, Physics, Engineering or other quantitative field.
- 3+ years of web development experience including strong knowledge of python, node.js, HTTP, SSL, and JavaScript
- In-depth knowledge of Linux and strong networking fundamentals.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, VMware deployments and version upgrade management.
- Experience Building RESTful APIs
- Strong ability to learn quickly and think about complex problems analytically for optimizing and scaling.
- Optional: Leading other software engineers to ensure your team delivers high quality product features on time.
- Ability to write clean, concise and maintainable code.
- Good working knowledge of modern programming/scripting languages and runtime environments.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and strong ability to learn.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and thorough with critical attention to detail and documentation.
