Your Opportunity

New Relic's Network Performance Monitoring functionality bridges the telemetry gap between applications and infrastructure in a single observability platform. Our goal is to democratize access to data for all engineers to accelerate both innovation and problem resolution.

The Network Performance Monitoring team has a mandate to innovate quickly and delight customers with intuitive adoption and exploration experiences. We want engineers who have a history of embracing challenges as a way to learn, collaborating across teams, and wondering why everyone keeps talking about "out of the box" thinking because you didn't even know that boxes existed.
What You'll Do

We are searching for someone who can help establish standard methodologies centered on innovative ideas for ingesting, analyzing, and visualizing telemetry. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with fellow engineers across functional and product domains to build end-to-end solutions for network telemetry use cases
  • Architect and build reliable systems that meet user needs
  • Work with product managers, designers, and leadership to plan projects that balance tradeoffs between rapid delivery and long-term success

Your Qualifications

Must-have:

  • 5+ years professional experience in software development with robust engineering teams using modern languages and frameworks such as Java, NodeJS, Javascript/Typescript or React
  • Experience with relational data stores such as PostgreSQL
  • Intimate knowledge of full-stack software engineering principles
  • Attention to detail and consistency of implementation
  • Comfortable working on a team where code quality and code reviews are prioritized
  • Proven knowledge of source control and scaled deployment practices
  • Ability to scale solutions for PBs of ingestion
  • Understanding of event-based programming
  • Ability to clearly communicate and document work

Nice-to-have:

  • Understanding of both on-premises and Cloud networking theories, bonus points for practitioner-level experience
  • Experience on an innovation-first team and a demonstrated ability to identify and deliver functionality that delights our customers
  • Understanding of code testing methodologies
  • Experience with cloud-based deployments and architecture, especially AWS
